Wallace-Glenn Cernak I've been a fan of Joel's for a long time now, and his unique sound really hit home with this song for some reason. It's got sounds and beats similar to many of his other songs but something about this just bleeds his artistic signature.

@Glenn11C

+M1nesweepermapping Yeah, but his sounds are uniquely his. He is branding sounds. Bach wrote in modules. Joel is using texture, shading and timing in addition to make it his own.

This track was created long before Deadmau5 has any modular equipment. I might be wrong but the bass for this track was created by recording a door stopper and then using digital effects to manipulate it.

When I hear this song... It makes me imagine a cat walking down the streat in a tux, with a bread ._.
I love deadmau5. I'm glad people hate him. The amount of expression achieved through music is too huge to fit with everyone else's expression; be glad there's variety. Without variety, your favourite genre would never have been born.

Finally got the answer to my Q. The bass is a VSTi through an analouge MF-105 MuRF (moog) "From time to time. It did the patterned bass on “Catbread.” It’s limited to eight steps, but it gets really different characteristics from samey-sounding s***. I love Native Instruments and this is not to bash them at all, but if I hear another Massive preset in an electro dance release, I’m going to shoot myself in the face. I feel like I could really get into this kind of music if it transitioned more often. Like, the intro before the wubwubs starts is 32 beats long. If it were only 16 beats long, my ears wouldn't get so tired of it. Oh well, that's house music for you.
