I thought I was the only one who found this movie really disappointing. It was actually awful. Main thing that killed this movie for movie is lack of plot/pacing, and it just wasn't funny. Basically 90percent of the jokes fell flat for me. My theatre was mostly silent. I struggled to not look at my phone or leave the whole movie because the plot and pacing was so awful. It didn't even feel like a movie, it felt more like a bunch of random unfunny skits loosely stringed together. It seems people are only pleased with this movie cuz all the fanservice, cameos, and nods, etc. Sorry, but maybe I'm old-school, but those things alone are not enough to entertain me. I NEED an actual good narrative, good pacing, and actual funny comedy, all 3 things this movie lacked! I actually really enjoyed the first Deadpool movie, it was ACTUALLY FUNNY and at least it had a cohesive story with actually good pacing! As a result, the movie actually did the serious and emotional moments surprisingly well too! Unlike Deadpool and Wolverine, all the "serious" scenes felt forced, awkward, and mid, cuz the pacing is just too chaotic for me to take anything seriously and too much cringe jokes. I think the issue is, people just can't concede that they like these characters, but what passes for the plot of this movie exists only to get all these FOX cameo's onscreen, and no other reason, and its painfully obvious, as all pacing, logic, and reason of a normal movie are just thrown out the window for cheap jokes. The TVA and the Void world as plot elements were terrible in the Loki TV series, but for some reason they brought them all back for this movie. The Void world is like all the bad parts of the multiverse crammed together, and there are no stakes at all there, except that you need to get off the world, before it randomly kills you with some comically different variant of the character, or another lame smoke monster. As to the meta Woke criticisms of Marvel and Disney, there is nothing wrong with adding some diversity elements, especially to early Marvel works, which were not diverse at all, but sometimes they take it WAY too far, and then it becomes very cringe, and a fair target of criticism. The particular Marvel Woke trouble issue is replacing vast numbers of legacy characters with alternate diverse versions of the same character. This would be much better done to have all new diverse heroes, maybe with some similar powers to some legacy characters, rather than 100 % rehashes of existing characters, uniforms, weapons, and NAME, and then swapping them into the legacy character's movies, and I think that is a fair criticism. I understand that this is the way many of the the Marvel comics are going, but putting out a 2000 issue comic run is a little different than a $300 million dollar movie, and so far, movie audiences are much less tolerant of this kind of switcharoo, and Disney is dropping a LOT of money on doing this with the new phases of the MCU. I know I'm not the only one mocking Disney Marvel's fall from grace on this issue, and its NOT because of diversity or inclusion, just the ham-fisted and tone-deaf way they are doing it, and that they KEEP doing it, over and over, no matter how many times its rejected by their customers.
@theopensourceartist
Ай бұрын
@@sprinkle61 this was a super good reply to me. You worded a few things in ways I couldn’t. I will offer a bit of pushback on the “diversity” thing though while stating my original opinion a little bit clearer… I don’t think diversity is the problem in the way people frame it online. And although it’s subtle; I think it’s an important reframing because I think a lot is just racist projection. I feel like the sentiment on most videos criticizing them for this is framing the argument as “this woke company keeps trying to push women roles and people of color” like it is this agenda, or a super intentional company philosophy to be “diverse” I think the answer is much more simple than that. They are just soulless corporate monsters. So yes, they push “diversity” because it is something relevant that they feel they can make money on. But how is that different from anything else they lazily do? They lazily do live actions remakes, nostalgia multiverse, legacy characters, legacy franchises, spin-offs, star studded casts, etc. The focus on “woke” is an example of what we have seen with this Olympic boxer who was a woman. Things just become the target of imaginary woke enemies; which are really just less and less hidden veils of hating women or anyone different. So do they have a diverse main character and write the most soulless movie about their “diversity” and it’s cringey and god awful? Is it tone death and really phoning it in for a trend and popularity? Of course. They suck so much ass. But replace the word “diversity” with nostalgia, IP, callbacks, multiverse and don’t they all apply? So that’s where I think the “woke” argument and the lense of criticizing the diversity is wrong. But I get by the end of your paragraph, that you see it similar. But I do think it’s important to talk about and reframe because of what I said above and in the video. And I believe the people like you and me; who see this issue that way, are in the minority

This installment but the movie really wasn't about him, the movie leans towards getting Logan back and just saving his universe and timeline, Deadpool one and two were more about his love life, he actually states that in Deadpool one that this is a love story, Deadpool three was more of a statement of how he cares about more people now and wants to save his family while also using it as a means to reintroduce Logan and also touches that Logan's past, it still has some emotional sides but it's not just about him and Vanessa anymore.

@@theopensourceartist I think we can agree on something here - and that is about the power of “expectations”. You expected more. I expected less, and then got even less. I mean… the first 5 minutes of the film involved digging up the corpse of a beloved character from one of the best character-based comic book films of the last decade, and then with dark humor and gore - using his bones to kill random henchmen while dancing to an Nsync song. I mean… really. If you didn’t get the hint right then that the next two hours was going to be a schlockfest, you have to admit that its kind of on you for not walking out then and there. I walk out of horror movies, and also turn it off or leave if I encounter unexpected horror in movies I watch. I despise that genre; its not for me. This movie though, was the equivalent of what “scary movie” is to the horror genre. Its a send-up / deconstruction of the superhero genre. It was also a bit of a love letter to the Fox superhero universe, which got canned in the Disney buy-out and never got to have a fairwell. It is also a product of the times - the failure of multiverse storytelling, and the philosophical / meta aspects of characters like Gambit (who never got the chance to exist in a “real” film) - by using deadpool - one of the only comic book characters who can break the fourth wall… Man, there was a lot there. Most of it juvenile and stupid, but that was also the point - that was the genre. I don’t get half the jokes in Scary Movie, because I avoid the genre. Under the current management it was bound to be a bit weak in some ways, but Hugh and Ryan gave it their all. I’d also like to point out that if it feels less funny, that could be because Ryan was more restricted with this contract. @@Fiveash-Art that shit was ass. And the “joke” of saying “we are really hyped cuz a Madonna song was playing” is just comic genius. First point, Deadpool changing is show behind the mask. In his subtle mask expression, and silence. If he’s speaking, he’s not thinking. The thing about them wanting to pay Hugh Jackman is because he doesn’t want to, at all. We wants to do broad way. Hints at the end of the movie when he tells wade he most likely won’t be seeing him. The devil (the funny part) is in the off camera details, allowing for multi layered comedy with in movie meaning and out of movie meaning, connected Deadpool’s fourth wall brakes and rounding out those rough edges that your to socially blind for see. All comedy is cring to someone, a joke that could land with the actual fans of Deadpool, with that in this movie there doing each character justice, if I made a spider man movie I’d make that shit comic book accurate to shit. Reminds me of the Star Wars holiday special, the script was something like a book; fine when reading, but trying to film it was just cringe. The comedy isn’t your strong suit and it rubbed you the wrong way. But saying that proves how much about the character Deadpool you Genuinely know about and have read. Sure hitting a nostalgia bone, but why is that a bad thing, growing up on x-men 2 and og fantastic 4 seeing that was some round about movie magic, it brings everyone you’ve known off into the mcu, leaving the question behind “how do these old character fit” and just tells you. All of the 20th century fox’s “mcu” is pruned, and stuck in time hell. Why is it so in your face?… it’s a blend of real world and mcu, pointed out that Disney bought fox with the logo, (multi shot scene about 15-20 of it appearing in the background) and then the use of the characters in way that brings the actors closure and the actors with there dream rolls, while making a cognitive story with real world four wall brakes that make you feel like Deadpool is right beside you appreciating the work Ryan has done. How does the story make since? BROTHER. He saved his universe, while giving “the worst Wolverine” the best redo…in a world that thought he ways dead…idk maybe reminds you of a comic called return of Wolverine…but if you don’t read those that’ll fly way above head. While setting Deadpool up for some mcu teamups with say spider man, or even other things like Wolverine vs The hulk. This movie strikes on so many artistic levels and your half ass drunken review doesn’t do it justice. This is your opinion, but it’s one sided. You say something about it being shitty from and art point of view, when it’s a masterpiece of cross references and past part integration that not only answered questions but also sets up for so much (gambit was a dream roll for that guy, and Chris evens loved playing Jonny). You opinion is shaky at best. But I can say you do seem like you care, a lot. I respect that, seriously! Heavily disagree, but although I was shiting on this video for its first 5 minutes. It’s a well made video laying out your points and letting us get a feel for who you are as an entertainer/creator and I hope fr fr voodoo gets you some free cases or some sponsorship money and your beats go mainstream. 🫡

People nowadays make it to 30yo still behaving like a teenager eeeasily.
