Watching gym videos to get me ready to go for the first time in years; Aiming for at least 30 minutes doing anything just to shake off the anxiety. Thank you for the tips, this was a great! Edit: Y'ALL I DID IT- Only 10 minutes on the treadmill (cramp) but did some arm and other leg workouts for the rest of the time. Call me noodle legs please

I didn't finish my workout in the gym today (4th day in the gym) because my anxiety got the best of me. I literally cried in the restroom. I had that "idk what to do. I feel so stupid" feels. I went home and wonder, is this feeling normal? I searched for answers online and tadaa, I found this video. Helped me feel better and want to come back stronger. Thank you, you're an angel.

I just joined a new gym...have no idea how to lift weights only use cardio machines since I'm a runner but I really want to start lifting /using machines to build muscle. I literally just looked at the description of the machines I wanted to try that's on the machine itself and just tried it out. It felt really good to try that

Omg thank you so much for addressing this 🥺 can't believe such an awesome fitness girl like u even feel this way sometimes, makes me feel comforted knowing that other girls feel this too 😝 i used to be the shyest person ever and i worked out in my bedroom for like 8 yrs before i stepped foot inside a gym for the first time so it was nerve wracking, i remember the times when i felt so anxious that i told myself i would never come back . But what helped me was telling myself that i deserve to do this for myself, and girls we deserve to take up space!!! And yes Keep Showing Up, it helped me gain the most confidence and selflove that i never knew was even possible. Sometimes putting on headphones n listen to a podcast helps, but most importantly focus on how good u feel afterwards n how good working on mental n physical health feels ❤️

I needed this!!!!!!!! I am 4 months pregnant. Haven’t been to the gym since finding out because of my sickness and fatigue. I finally got up and went yesterday. I was SO anxious. Before pregnancy I was in a CrossFit gym 4-5 days a week. I walked into a regular gym and felt like it was the first day of kindergarten. 😂 I was so self conscious because I am pregnant and know in my head that I know what I’m doing but have to do way less due to the pregnancy. I was nervous people were making fun of me because of how light my weights were or how little I was doing. This video really reminded me that everyone in there started somewhere or may be starting over like me. Brittany, I also went through your insta feed and saw your pregnancy workouts/pics and that made me feel so much better and confident. ❤❤❤❤

I learned people who are anxious going to the gym have hidden motives in their heart that are rooted and connected to it. Such as going to impress, maybe a gym crush, to concerned about what others think, living in fear of opinions and such. Check those first, ask the Lord for help and he will deliver you

My gym anxiety is specific to one area: WEIGHTS ...I'm coolin, enjoying myself in all other areas, chatting it up, doing the thing! but if I have to get a mat from that side of the gym, nah--i'll just go without. the goal is to start with spending time in the women's area for a few more weeks, maybe? and then move over to the area adjacent to the weights, leading over to doing a set in the weights area, and then !!LIVE ACTION!! weights area, full workout. This morning, I walked over there and I SWEAR my greatest fear, 2nd time, came true: it feels like everyone drops weights, stops, and looks 👀...the direct eye contact is so awkward! ...its cool. I live to do it again lol :)

I just joined a new gym so I barely know where anything is which is causing the most anxiety. Today was upper body day for me and so I figured free weights would be the safest choice. I had such bad anxiety this morning I went super early so that there wouldn’t be as many people there. Got myself psyched up and told myself no one is watching me. I start doing my arm workout and this random guy comes up to me and tries to show me a “better way” to do my workout. Worst fear unlocked lol I finished as quick as possible and ran to the cardio section 😭

I’m a plus size girl and I joined this amazing gym that has pole classes, aerial hoop, arial hammock, burlesque and all kind of sexy dances. I use to do ballet when I was young, I absolutely loved it! Was the happiest I’ve been in my life. So I wanted to dance again that’s why I joined this gym. The girls there are absolutely gorgeous! Fit, tanned and unbelievably sexy. There are girls dancing in thongs, some girls aren’t even wearing bras under there clothes and they’re breasts are not at all saggy. And I’m this fat pale awkward goth girl. Today I broke a chair during burlesque practice and I was absolutely mortified! The girls that I thought were mean and snobbish were so sweet to me, they asked me if I was okay and got me another chair and they were cheering me up cuz I guess they felt that I was embarrassed. I love it there, I can do a lot of moves it’s just that I’m insecure about my body, that I’ll look funny while doing a sexy move. I also keep remembering some remarks a guy I was dating made about me. He said I was fat and that he only wanted to sleep with me and who would actually want me long term? He said “you know when you carve food from somewhere so shit? That’s what you are to me” So I can’t help but remember what he said and compare myself to these gorgeous thin girls, that these girls he probably wants long term, but a fat girl like me?

Glad to see another video of this. One of your other ones really helped when I first started going, but its been a few weeks and my attendence has dropped a bit, even though I've had no issues happen when I've gone, even though I've felt amazing each and every time, I guess my brain just has gotten into the habit of starting something, nothing bad happens but maybe still expects that to be the case? I guess I also know another thing. One day I went and it was pretty darn busy, however, I had been lucky that a huge part of those people were just finishing up as I got there, so it ended up being super empty by the time I started working out. So I think my brain then anticipated the other days to be just as busy... In any case, thank you for more of these videos, because that feeling might come and go, so it's good to have a reminder that even someone who has your experience also goes through this from time to time, and we can do something about it!

I’m 50 something male in reasonable shape for my age. At my gym Nobody cares what I’m doing but me I’d say. Perhaps that’s the same for everybody. I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks about what I’m doing anyway as I’m there to achieve my goals which do not include impressing anyone or looking a certain way. Whilst I’m not young and beautiful so to speak I am glad that this is the case and I feel for others who use up so much energy worrying about vanity over substance. Sure we all like to look ok but the gym is a place to become healthier and stronger. Isn’t it?

How long should you spend at gym so that it’s beneficial ? Explain reps and sets and how many should you do for it to be enough on either upper body and lower body . Would you say it’s better to have a good out fit that fits my phone in it . Dumb question but I should get a locker huh for car keys etc? Lol what to do when you literally don’t know a machine but you KNOW it’s needed for whatever you need work on on that part of body ? Should I ask someone for help 😅 or should I fake till I make it 😶😅😅😅 how should I organize my workout days ? Should I do full body on my days or go or should I split them up ? Like upper body 3 days and lower body 3 days ? Is there something I can do before my workout that can ease my anxiety ? Like should I do a little running first ? 😅

Aggh i have like crazy anxiety. Especially bc i dont really know what to do. And idk some people are kind of judgy even in classes when u cant keep up or do something as well. And i mean here in scotland literally everyone its 3 times taller then me so a lot of times im the one that gets tired first. But anyways also men, in the like public space, i am too anxious to get to the lifting section bc of them. Like pleaaase dont talk to me, dont look at me act like i dont exist. Honesly my biggest nightmare its 40y.o creepy men with ego bigger then their muscles. 😭🤣🤣 love gyms but why are people in there like??? 😂 might try classes early in the morning. At least someone would tell me what to do lmao

Alot of this is caused by guys. Its true. Im sorry, some of us cant keep our eyes to ourselves. At my golds, a young lady was struggling with weight, i got my wife, and she helped her. Why? Because its more comfortable. For me, i have no anxiety. People legit wont talk to me or go near me. No idea why. A good way to get over anxiety, bring a buddy, a spouse etc. Learn together, train together.

The first anxiety that I have if anyone tries to say me something I wont understand and if they dont know English that would be embarrassing..
