well it just doesn't get any better than this now does it? My grandma used to get such a kick of how i adored Jerry Lewis. She loved to tell me stories of how when she first saw Martin and Lewis in a nightclub in NY when they're career first started in 46(?)they were quite a bit more blue in their act and where much funnier live than on film! She told me of a crush she had on Jerry (much like myself) and this routine was the last performance she saw live before they broke up in 56. great stuff!

The continuity between scenes, like Dean & Jerry's attire, singing, dancing, and the sets themselves, all simply impeccable. Thank you for posting this vintage brilliance.

Definately the finest musical number in a Martin & Lewis film! I feel so happy when I watch this :) I grew up watching this movie (all their movies!) ... I'm only 22, by the way!

This number is amazing! I saw it on the CCH and It's brillant. And truth be told, mate. Neither of them needed either one which is why it's so bloody awesome that they were a team! Its what makes them so great!

I love Jerry Lewis. Jerry is a god. He is going to receive the Jean Herscholt award AT LAST from the Academy Awards this Feb. 22, 2009. WAY past time! Now let's see him get the Lifetime Achievement, Irving Thalberg and the other one for technical.

I have always liked this song, but did not remember how it was presented in the movie. So much talent in those two guys! I'm surprised NYC didn't adopt this song as they did with "New York, New York." Hats off to whomever posted it. Thank you.

Luis Mántaras Yes he was, but there’s a certain other person in this clip matching him step for step, and who was arguably the better singer. And the fact that you (and many others, both at the time and in later years) completely forgot to mention Dean’s considerable contribution to the act was one of the main reasons that the partnership eventually broke up. Nobody, not even someone as easygoing as Dean was, likes being under-appreciated. Even Jerry said in many interviews that he himself wouldn’t have put up with that kind of treatment for as long as Dean did; “I would have been out of there after about two years. You know - ‘hey, wait a minute, I’m here too’ - Dean put up with it for 10 years.”

Dean Martin famously said to Jerry Lewis at the end of their partnership after Lewis asked him, "I thought that we love each other?", Jerry, you can talk about love all that you want, to me you're nothing but a fucking dollar sign". This was reiterated by Shirley MacLaine in her book about Sinatra, Martin, Lewis, Mitchum and Eastwood, "My Lucky Stars".

Usually when really good things end they end badly. People don't typically say good things about each other in the midst of a dissolving relationship. Why bring up this quote? Most everyone knows they split and it sucked for them and the fans. Can't we appreciate their talent and body of work separate from that and/or their personal lives?

+La Penserosa ... good point let's remember the good not the bad. Also who of us has not say thing in moment of anger, later come to regret. All we know there was some kind of healing starting at the telethon in 76, from I read even more before Dean's death. Rather we are a fan of one or the other or both let's be happy that they made their peace with each other before it was to late.
