He does such a beautiful job! I LOVE the crooners & he’s my favorite! (I just found out last year who my adopted parents & family were...my father was a crooner when he was in his teens, then in 1964, my birth year, he was only partially famous, but still on YT! I almost fell over! All I have from him, is his hair, part of his nose & his reverberation in his voice...I wish I had his musical ability. He sang Sleep Tight & had a good range for a voice. His name is Bobbie Howard of The British Walkers. He has no idea I exist. But it was cool to learn. And Brenda Lee is a cousin, I was told by one of my half-brothers! I still love her Rockin’ ‘Round the Christmas Tree song! But...my birth mother needs to keep me a secret. I don’t know why! She has 3 other boys, what’s one more kid? 🤷🏻♀️ Had I known there was musical ability in my natural family, I’d have taken up the violin at age 6.

@@sherryhannah9262sorry yes I spelled soul wrong. Just came across this. I’m always listening to Dean. I feel better after. I did meet him. In 1980 or 1981. I forgot. It was at a restaurant in LA. I asked the waitress if it would be ok if I went over and she said sure he’s the nicest man. He did not disappoint. I was worse than when Lucy meets a star on I love Lucy. I told him he was my idol and this was the greatest day of my life. It really was. He signed the menu. I still have it. I was 22 or 23. I actually said to him you know I wanted to see you in Vegas cause we are going there next but you’re not going to be there. He looked up at me and said “ I know”. I was So mesmerized. People around me including my girlfriend who’s now my wife of over 40 years just laughed. It was wonderful. I got back to my room and immediately called home. Had to tell my dad who loved frank. It was about 2am in NY and woke him up. He was so happy for me. Life was just different then. Nice to hear from you. Hope you respond.

Thank you, sir, for showing the genius and talent of this man. My grandmother, parents, and I watched his show and the other great variety shows on TV. (I saw them all in black and white as my parents did not buy a color TV until I left home. They DID cost a LOT of money!) Dino and Bobby Darin were my favorites -- such great voices and song delivery. And they were also showmen, dancers, actors, and just the coolest EVER!! Aren't we so fortunate to be able to experience them again due to people like you who who made the effort to find these performances? Thank you!

No one ever sang it smoother. Dino had perhaps the smoothest, most melodic and captivating tremulo of any crooner, ever. He remains, despite his popularity, a very underrated singer. Of more limited range than say, Perry Como, Dino could nonetheless croon a love ballad in a more endearing way than anyone, with the possible exception of Elvis Presley. This is a beautiful example.

***** He's singing a little parody of the song "I Thought About You" by Jimmy Van Heusen & Johnny Mercer. Instead of "I took a trip on a train & I thought about you." He sings "I took a trip in a car & I ran over you." Not quite as funny today as it was in 1966, however.
