@@oldvlognewtricks Sure, I think that'd be cool: include a version with the original "Switzerland ending" that didn't do well with test audiences, plus weave in the deleted scenes with Tracey Ullman and also the bit with Madeline in the kitchen fridge and so forth. But I want the theatrical cut too. Meryl Streep said that the second ending they filmed, set at Ernest's funeral service, was perfect for such a crazy and dark comedy film. I have to agree. A more thoughtful ending about wanting to be mortal again is not in harmony with everything that transpired throughout the story of Madeline and Helen.

Most sexy scenes got cut when the movie was drastically cut down. Madeline grabs Ernest's crotch during the wedding ceremony. Madeline has sex with Dakota at the beach cabana before she goes to the beauty salon. Dakota calls Madeline to apologize and they start to sexy talk while Ernest listens in. Lisle tells Ernest her secret, that she is in fact more than 600 years old, and her robe falls open and he looks at her boob.

Sex? There was absolutely 0 sex in this movie. Vanity is not sex. Wanting to be young and beautiful is not sex. But anyways. Loved this movie. But the producers didn't want to end on a deep message but a funny shallow one.

@robodd4694 They cut it out... at the time these interviews were done the movie was still very different. The movie was extremely cut down (and 3 scenes reshot incl the ending) not even a month before release. Madeline grabs Ernest's crotch during their wedding while kissing him passionately. (The whole ceremony was cut out with just one shot of them walking out the hall remaining in.) Madeline had a sex scene with Dakota in the beach cabana. (This scene happened before Ernest arrives for work) Madeline is moaning theatrically in it and streaking her nails all over his back. After sex and a lot of complaining (which is very funny) she notices a line on her cheek caused by Dakota's pillows and she goes nuts prompting her to go to Chagalls. When Madeline arrives back home from Lisle's Dakota calls her to apologize and they slowly start to flirt on the phone while Ernest listens in. It starts to get a bit more raunchy and then Madeline throws the door in his face. There's probably more but these were the biggest ones. I suggest reading the shooting script, it's great (pink one on David Koepp's page).
