You can hear Detroit in the music. Funkadelic, the Stooges. Plus they carved it out for future bands like Bad Brains and Fishbone

Good call on the Stooges, I always felt like there was a little bit of Fun House influence, I can't put my finger on it exactly.

This band deserved so much more than they got. One wonders what the punk scene would have made of this album. I also hear a lot of Steve Harris in that bassline.

Proto punk in the style of The Stooges, I think there are some even punkier songs on the album from my recollection. Yeah , their rediscovery is a fascinating story if you read a bit more of the details.

They did start playing funk but had angrier songs and evolved their style. I can't believe I had to wait so long to hear them. They would have been adored in London in 75, they would have blown the scene apart!

Early metal proto-punk? Very interesting story. Bass and guitar even prefigures Joy Division - anyone else hear that? Very accomplished and innovative. How did they shoot themselves in the foot over a name? They could've made it, and left a trail of influence. Nothing I would put on to listen to, but very glad I heard.

Actually, a few promotional copies of "Politicians In My Eyes" (with "Keep On Knocking" as the B-side) were released as a single in the fall of 1976 but we had to wait until 2009 to be entitled to a whole album with the rest of these 1975 recordings ! 😉

Dude you have some good reactions. I saw your atomic rooster one. You got check out this band Nightsun they released a album in 1972. Extremely fast prog metal. Way ahead of its time. Nightmare, plastic shotgun and got a bone of my own are worthy of separate reactions. gotta say got a bone of my own is my favorite. it one of the only slower tempo songs on the album

Dannis drumThe Aerolites rock funk band called The Aerolites. Bobby and Dannis have a raggae band Lambsbread. Raggae is baked into the DNA of punk- I think the funk-raggae sound, with a rock sound is the recipe that later we call punk

Amazing stuff! First heard (of) them on the radio earlier this year, and like you, was highly impressed by them. The song I heard was another track, "Where Do We Go From Here???", from the same demo sessions that turned into a great album years later. They started out as a funk band, but switched styles after attending gigs by The Who and Alice Cooper. There's a doc available to watch on KZitem that tells their story, "A Band Called Death". Highly recommended!

Never head of them (the band name's a bit weak, if that's the right word) but I was okay with this. I guess from one track it's not fair or wise to judge because this could be so far from their usual fare. I'm open to hearing more to get a better opinion.

Not really sure about this band. Maybe I need to hear another track?. Had a punk like sound, but so did a lot of bands in the late 60's to mid 70's. Incidentally, The Stranglers formed in 1974,(known as the Guilford Stranglers then). Speaking of which..."The Raven" reaction, mmm?.

I don't find anything surprising about it being from 1975, or angry. (Conscription was in operation in America - and Australia, and some other places, too - for Vietnam, still, at the time.) A double check on Wikipedia says the fall of Saigon was in April 1975, so maybe part of the problem the song/album had was that the _raison d'être_ disappeared? (Or in less fancy English, it's raison to be/ to exist). Good song, but then from those times it's quite reasonable to expect especially innovative/ unusual songs. It's around the brief time where that sold records, before things went back to normal again. Speaking of which (I'm stretching this, so cut me a bit of slack, OK?) *Voivod* sneaked a morph past me 4 months ago. (The illustration from the cover of *Nothingface* has arrived in 2023, encountered AI, and gone all 3D and morphing - which is kind of crazily appropriate. They couldn't have done better if they'd had some kind of power of prophecy at their disposal originally, even.) There's a video for *Tales of Morgöth* which, if you even if you don't like the Voivod sound, you might enjoy, muted - especially if you're somewhat familiar with _Away's_ art. kzitem.info/news/bejne/zbCbt5uqpaCIm5g

Oh yeah, i saw that too, 'out in 2009' :) Oh joy, i thought, we've finally escaped the clutches of the 70's... But then I read the next line, and here we are again. Re the tune, rough, dodgy vocals, and too long. Not the absolute worst thing i've heard, but hasn't left me clammering to hear more either.
