That was the only type of yeast I could get from PnS during C0vid. The packet is still sitting in my freezer. Used it today to make hot cross buns. I obviously need to use it more but it just goes to show how well it keeps in the freezer!

Haha, that's great that it lasts so long! Do you just cut a bit off when you need it?

@@nzmoneykarma hmm mine (which I thought was a solid block when I bought it) is actually very finely granulated. I keep it in a ziplock bag in the freezer.

I buy similar yeast, and when you open the foil it will release the yeast granules - it's just vacuumed packed into the brick. I buy two packs at a time, store it in the freezer and then transfer the open pack into a jar, just a small jar, for in the fridge and the rest of the opened pack in the freezer in a larger jar. It lasts for forever and remains very happy. I bring it to room temp before using it just to encourage it's happiness.

Hi! Thanks for watching and taking time to say hi :-) Toilet paper, washing powder, sunlight soap and dish liquid etc all come out of the grocery budget. Toilet paper is the one thing that I find expensive- it's around $6.90 a week :-/. Yes will have to have another chatty cooking session soon!
