Being content with not needing much is half the battle. Certainly, it makes managing your household balance sheet a bit easier.

Y'all! His idea is the same as mine! Earlier this year, I read that very scriptures in Proverbs. Since then, I decided not to take anything on credit anymore. I even regret the student loan now because I could take two classes at a time and pay out of pocket until I'm done. If you're still young, please read your Bible! Believe it, the Bible is definitely a live guide.

As far as I'm concerned, credit cards are a scam and can only make things more expensive.

The key is using it to your advantage (points or cash back) vs credit cards taking advantage of you (high interest rates.)

Yes, and having good credit can result in significantly lower charges than if you have bad credit. Credit can be a double edged sword that can help or hurt you.

This guy is full of it. You need credit in America because you need a credit score. Without a CS, it will be almost impossible for you to even rent an apartment, let alone get a mortgage for house. Even most employers will check your CS before hiring you. 'Credit ghost' is an apt term for creditless people in American society. Without credit, you will find yourself deprived of even the opportunity of achieving any measure of success. Doors will not open for you. You will be invisible.

I didn’t think it was possible, but Steve is living life without a credit score. It bucks conventional wisdom, but he’s not the only one.

@@InspiredMoney I have never owned a credit card and thus have no credit score and while I am obviously alive, I can testify that my life is orders of magnitude more difficult than those who do have credit.
