I am using the same journal for my 2023 reading journal and I have also been impressed with the quality too. I like the way you give yourself permission to not spend creative energy on books that don't inspire a spread. I have been trying so hard to catch up on my reading journal and I want to adopt this method. I'm not sure I will allow myself the option, but I want to try. Stupid perfectionism.

You can do it Elisa! It definitely helps me keep up, I totally understand perfectionism getting in the way though. Over time it gets easier to let things be imperfect! You even learn to revel it a little ❤❤❤

Would love a flip through. I want to start a book journal and I am stuck in the perpetual R&D phase😅 I am coming to the conclusion I don’t read enough so I have to set it up more like a yearly/long term type journal. But I still love to see all the pages set up because the styles can still be used in travel journals or my bullet journal.

That's so understandable - I always like to recommend Anna from JournalAway's reading journal videos for this! She does quarterly setups to fit with the amount she reads - it's genius! You're totally right though, everything is adaptable to different journal types. Thank you for being here 😘

I need to try those letter stickers! I’m so over my stamps and my own handwriting. 🙄 I’ve got a reading tracker in each month, but I think I’ll switch it up a little. I really like your layout! I just need it to be fewer pages. Lol! I love the idea of a maybe next page and a page to track/review what I’ve read. That’s all I need at the moment. I’m going to try StoryGraph for next year. I just need to remember to log the books I read in it!
@ErinSmith
10 ай бұрын
The letter stickers can get a little tedious, but it’s pretty similar to the stamping process so it’s not too bad! 🥰 I reckon you could keep it to a single spread within your setup - any stat tracking on one page that you’d like, and your maybe next/actually read on the facing page?

2024 will be my first year setting up a reading journal and I’m using yours as a great source of inspiration, thank you for that! I have a HP Sprocket and I’d already thought about using it like that to print the book covers, but I was wondering what type of paper you’re using, because yours looks matte and I’ve only ever seen shiny photo paper.

@debra9916

Not that you asked, but I think an entry for each story would be lovely. You could make a heading/page for the entire book and then individual entries for each story. Oooh, now I think I want to find a fun anthology so I can do this. Thanks for the idea. 😊

What do you write when you review your books. I want to start keeping reviews of books in my bullet journal, but have no idea what to even write, other than what star rating it is
@ErinSmith
9 ай бұрын
It depends a bit on the book, but whatever I thought about the book - that’s what in write in my review page! If I loved a character, I tell my journal how cool they are. If I hated a character, I tell the journal how annoying they are. If it made me cry, or laugh, or if I thought about giving up on the book but pushed through, or if I read it really quickly because it was so exciting, I tell my journal. I do this mostly so I can remember what I read and how I felt about it, but it’s also totally not something you have to do if it doesn’t feel right for you.
