Guy did GOOD! 1st, green treated wood is the very BEST bang for the average homeowner’s buck. 2nd, it outlasts $Composites$ by far and 3rd, much more solid and 4th, least time consuming deck and 5th, simpler, least number of tools required. Saw, nail gun, framing square, level and compressor. Ring shank nails are fine if they’re not splitting the spindles which is very seldom with right nails. You want Beauty, screws, and detail, empty your wallet out - or be quiet. This from someone who has done over a hundred custom interior stair bannisters.
