Thanks Dennis! The system sits right above your wheel wells at 12", so you lose some space. But, you gain more surface area for larger items, and with DECKED's 2000 lb payload, you can still use your truck or van while gaining ergonomic, weatherproof storage underneath.

@superjet2771

FYI: Decked Tech Support recommends NOT using this video as a reference, and the instructions kinda suck too so here are a few golden tips. A. Use the longer bolts on the small cab ammo cans and the shorter bolts on the larger rear ammo cans. B. Because of the engineering genius involved, ONLY the bed covers are marked with any sort of orientation, so be damn sure the center spine is facing the right direction or you WILL install it backwards! The numbers and letters at the bottom of the ammo cans mean NOTHING, so don't try ad figure them out. C. The screws are extremely cheap and aluminum (probably to prevent rust but my bed is covered) so you'd be wise to go buy a couple quality back ups as some will not fit correctly. Do not force a tight screw. Try a different screw or replace it. D. Working on the Deck System at waist level is orgasmic by comparison to the ground. Use a work horse, fork lift or however you can get it up. E. Tech support is super fast and super friendly, but I'm not quite convinced they have ever actually built one themselves? F. Any You Tuber who claims they snapped it all together with no issues is a damn liar.

Will this system work if placed on top of a rubber bed mat
@Decked
3 жыл бұрын
Hey there. it really depends on how thick the rubber bed mat is. The system is compatible with spray-in liners and most bed rugs as it is designed to fit super snugly to the bed walls/floor. It is not compatible with any drop-in plastic liners. Let us know if you have any questions. 👍

I remember the good times when they first came up with this system and prices started under a thousand dollars ...now is almost double that.. I live up In Canada and there is no Decked system under $ 1800 ..plus accessories and of course not installed . All this for a pile of recycled plastic.. Nice system but I wouldn't pay more then 7-9 hundred for it , I rather try to find a used one for less than half of the price they ask for
@Decked
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Johnny, we don't have a great answer for the pain of prices. We initially strived to make this for under $1k but we never actually got there. Our price increase last year was way overdue and it was just a requirement of staying profitable as with the immense amount of product improvement as well as partial pre-assembly that has gone into the system, it's just the cost of doing business. With the exchange rate you should be seeing a $1249 USD system sell for approx $1700 CDN. The recycled HDPE we use as well as recycled steel performs in this application every bit as good as virgin, keeps the prices as low as possible, and is better for the planet. You may feel it's not worth what it costs and we empathize with that sentiment. Used is not a bad option just be extra sure that when you buy it, it's not damaged and all of the bits and pieces you need are with it. Thank you for taking the time to comment on our channel here.

Canada is still free, right? It's an awesome privilege that, should value not exceed cost in your opinion, the government won't force you to buy it. Since I've purchased one already I sort of like the idea of them staying in business and hanging around should I need anything or have a warranty issue.

Hey there! Shouldn't be a problem. With any load though we recommend distributing the weight load. The system has a 2000lb payload but not a 2000lb pinpoint load. We generally throw some diamond plating under the wheels of our motorcycles or ATVs. Let us know if you have any other questions.

@@Decked Thanks! One more question, do you know if your system covers the cargo lights on the 2019 (new body) SIlverado? I'm thinking the way to go would be to pair a decked with a roll up bed cover but then I'm not sure how much room would be left from the top of the decked to the cover.
@Decked
5 жыл бұрын
@@Dillion203 The DECKED system sits exactly 12 inches from the bottom of the bed. The depth of the current model Silverado is 22". This will leave you with 10" of space between the top of the DECKED system to bottom of the bed cover.

You actually can park a quad on top. Our Drawer Systems have a 2,000 lb payload on top of the Deck, it has a steel subframe that is roughly 30% of the product that is injection molded to the HDPE. This provides a strength to weight ratio of 10:1 and won't ever ding, dent or rust. Our Systems are the furthest thing you can get from "cheap!"
