Hey Richard, if the paint peeling when removing tape is a common issue, you can buy a hand paper masker. Use yellow low tack tape with 8 to 12 inch wide paper and tape to bottom of the crown as usual, then you can tape your plastic to the paper. Generally, when paint peels off the sheetrock like that it's due to not priming walls before applying finish coats or the mud joints where not dusted before priming. I appreciate you taking your time to video your work and explaining every step. Stay safe out there.
@GODLOVERBAM

"mud joints were not dusted" what does that mean?

He means the plaster joins like if it was square stopped sanded and not dusted b4 priming the paint comes right off
@jeffs8330

@@GODLOVERBAM it means wiping off the dust after sanding the drywall joints. If you leave the sanding dust on the joint, the paint is adhering to the dust and that isn't attached to the wall and can easily come off, even with low tack tape.

Another great job. Awesome out come! We use tons of tape putting up plastic for dust proofing. I find the green tape, and peeling straight back across the tape does less peel tear out on existing paint. It's worth it to get up on the ladder and go around carefully peeling it straight back across itself. So many times I've stood on the floor and peeled off the tape from a doorway to be like oh no! Then have to scramble and find touch-up paint that matches. Or end up painting entire walls

Warming the masking tape before peeling is effective, but also the angle you pull the tape. Try pulling it back slowly over itself. It puts less stress on the underlying paint. Of course, if the drywall wasn't thoroughly dusted before its first coat of paint, peeling is inevitable.

Really enjoy your channel, one piece of advise when pulling tape pull it at a sharp angle, like in the video where you started pulling tape, but you can see as you change the angle more paint comes of. It's harder for the paint to lift with a sharp angle, it's not perfect but can by you some grace. Enjoy, I'm learning new tricks all the time. Blessings
