OMG! In thousands of smoke on the water cover on youtube, I finally found the alternative solo version. You did really really good! Thanks you man!

There is one particular run in this solo, about 25s from the end (over the chord change), which is absolute genius. As always, your sound is flawless.

It's interesting how when I hear alternate takes I tend to quickly dismiss them, I wonder if it's because of 'programming' from hearing the original so much or if the original does indeed flow harmonically better? Perhaps if this were the lead version that was released on the original I'd be liking this more...I wonder...

Agree, then if it were the other way around, the original would sound odd. lol He played it nicely here though!

I don't know how to add tabs to a video, I'm sorry :)

First when I heard this in background of earlier video I thought it was you improvising over well-known backing track. I'd say that this take is more British, so to say, it has some cool psychedelic vibe. Killer sound and playing, as usual.

Would you mind helping me to build a x2 KT88 Major as well? It sounds awesome!
@mgalbu

Thanks! Sure, send me your email and I'll give you a basic schematic of the Major. I'm not giving up the "Blackmore mods" at the moment as I intend to build the amp myself for whoever might be interested. :)

@@mgalbu Thanks very much man! Apreciate it! My email is willwaush@protonmail.com Don't worry about the mods, my goal would be going stock with a Bass version to get John Frusciante's tone!

could you pass me the tab of the solo
@mgalbu
4 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I don't have a tab for this solo. I also realized that the way I played it back then has some errors. But you should be able to play it at half speed here on KZitem and figure it out just by looking at the notes. Cheers, M.
