Understandably so, but I'd go with Live at Leeds. MIJ is definitely one of the best because they took their studio songs to another level. Allman Brothers too. Wishbone Ash's Live Dates another personal favorite, and even though I'm not much of a Lou Reed fan, Rock n Roll Animal with Wagner and Hunter were so good Lou threw them out of the band for upstaging him.

It is unnecessary to compare giant artists like Lord, Wakeman and Emerson. All are great to the same degree on any scale. Deep Purple changes me. This band simply destroys me, in a good way. This "purple" formation on this album is emblematic. If I could travel through time, one of my destinations would certainly be Osaka, on a certain night in 1972. I would watch that concert kneeling down. I'm 60 years old and the first Rock & Roll album I heard was Machine Head, when I was 12 years old. I was swept away. English Rock is the best Rock & Roll in the world. Pure art, for good connoisseurs. And Deep Purple won't let me lie. Desnecessário comparar artistas gigantes como Lord, Wakeman e Emerson. Todos são ótimos no mesmo grau em qualquer escala. O Deep Purple me altera. Essa banda simplesmente me desestrutura, no bom sentido. Fui arrebatado. O Rock inglês é o melhor Rock & Roll do mundo. Arte pura, para bons apreciadores. E o Deep Purple não me deixa mentir.

One can admire this band for several reasons - With this particular version of Space Truckin, i really don`t know where to begin - It`s for sure the best out of the 1000 other versions. It`s the tightness, the accuracy, drama, build up, perfectionism , futureristic from-out-of-this-worldness (i could go on) that sums it up. And mind you, i don`t give a rats ass that this band did`nt make it into the rock n roll hall of fame (shame) That would have been an insult.

Ian Gillan, all'apice delle facoltà vocali. Semplicemente perfetti!

I always wondered why many people fancy Jon Bonham that much, I never did - great drummer but no more than that - like Ginger said he could not swing one note, to me Paice always was the real deal!

Bonham swung every note man. He deserves his place. But Paice was a beast of this album. They are both legends.

@@j.osborne4914 I was citing Ginger Baker who is mor of a jazz drummer, I guess he knows what swing feel is. Bonhamer was to me was more of a heavy butcher drummer, never as agile or fast as Paice or Palmer. I prefer them any time over Bonham, who was the best drummer for Zep, who never managed to have a live album who stands a chance against Made in Japan or the other great live albums, they just could not do it. too much posing was going on. But Zep is a damm good band and I listen to them with much delight, But live....they are not on par with the best of the best.

@@gillan5 Hey yeah swing can refer to any feel that isnt straight. Thought of as the feel having a swing. Bohnam for me is really about the way he played his drum beats He used a lot of swing in his beats where he didnt play a straight feel. Made in Japan is an amazing live album. My neighbour lent me a copy on vinyl when I was about 17 and it blew my mind haha. I forgot about it for 20 years until a few years ago when it popped up in my feed and I listened again. It blew my mind. This album captures a band full of monsters in their prime and its beautiful.

@@j.osborne4914 Yes, fair enough-nice reply- so: anyway, to be curious, on which particular track do you think Bonham had a swing feel like Paice in Lazy?

generally I prefer Studio versions of songs by the 5 main British Super Groups but this live version of Space truckin' is fantastic and highlights Ritchie Blackmore's incredible guitar playing, John Lord's classical inspired Organ work and Ian Gillan belting out the lyrics not to mention Ian Paice on the drums.

Glover is underrated. When he left /got fired and was replaced by that coked up cock head i completely lost interest . Hughes and Coverdale destroyed DP.

I truly have fond memories of this album made in Japan and especially this albums side full-length space Truckin. deep purple and Ritchie Blackmore really shine through with some groundbreaking progressive rock reminiscent of yes King Crimson Pink Floyd Jethro Tull their true colors AZ an original classic British rock band with the extended artistic psychedelic gems that are intended to transform the listener into another universe great music so grateful... And The Beat Goes On... There's a Starman waiting in the sky... Lucy in the Sky... Purple Haze... Starship Trooper go sailing on by though you seen them please don't say a word, so come on come on mon come on let's go space Truckin
