Two books that I really appreciated from Deepak: 1. Perfect Health which I read from cover to cover and it was detailed about the system of Ayurveda - which was extremely helpful information to me. and.... 2. The second one was: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, and I used to give that as gifts. These books were practical and helpful for our everyday. Now he talks about things that I cannot follow or apply or really understand to help me in my realizations. I do study Buddhism and understand awareness and consciousness but the way Deepak talks about these and science is overwhelming and confusing to me. He did not mention David Bohm, for example, who opened up to spirituality via his friendship and connection with Krishna Murti. I feel that the difference between Science and Buddhist teachings lets say is that one, the Science, is about working with the physical reality, figuring it out and learning how to control things and through the new knowledges discover how to help upgrade our existence. BUT it does not have the qualities of the heart, spirit, oneness and love. Spirituality is Esoteric, kinda but it deals with freedom and happiness... the buddha is showing us a way on how to shift our consciousness to unravelling our programming and I feel living from Buddha nature aspect of who we are, which we may call also Holy Spirit or True Nature. That would be liberation. His teachings make sense. From another book called Course in Miracles (channeled material), I got from there that as long as ego runs the show, ours and the world, we suffer and that ego's rightful place is to serve spirit and NOT to run the show. These things make sense to me. In fact, Buddha seems to have had more realizations which he did not teach because he said, his intention is first to teach us on how to take the arrow out of our heart...i.e. the suffering. He also insisted on not adding to our belief system but to know things directly for ourselves. Thus empowering humans. I don't know about science. It is, I think, understanding how our world works and how to make things better in the material plane more or less. Just to end this: I wish Deepak spoke more simply in a way that anyone can understand. It is, on some level, a bit overwhelming to listen to him at times. I also feel there is a lot of his ego in the way. p.s. I do appreciate Dan Harris' questions and interview skills... very helpful to us ordinary folks trying to understand and learn new things for a happier life.

Dan (the relative Dan) becomes more connected to the “unlocalized,” to the everything/nothing “infinite Dan” every (ephemeral day) 😊. So patient, so kind, you let Deepak’s timeless wisdom shine while accepting his self-acknowledged grandiosity with far more equanimity than perhaps he anticipated which was beautiful to see.

Interesting conversation. Deepak Chopra has written 96 books which is so amazing. Having very less exposure to scientific terms/theories that part of conversation was not relatable however other parts of conversation resonated. Found the questions you asked very relevant.

Assuming that meditation can have a significant influence on our health, it can lead to a variety of positive effects on overall well-being and holistic health as well as positive gene effects.

What a fascinating and delightful exploration. I found this talk inspiring and it sparked my curiosity! As a follow up consider interviewing Dr. Anil Seth, whose work is all addressing the hard problem of consciousness and neuroscientist Lisa Barrett Feldman...that would be great fun.. and fascinating!

Deepak Chopra stands correct ever since the debate. It aged very well, the father's of quantum mechanics believed that there's something deep & spiritual about consciousness, that was influenced directly by their findings & development of quantum theory. Also Sam Harris now discovered meditation, lol but won't acknowledge a Master of meditation, Deepak Chopra, is as if some of his opponents are like children who rebel against their parents. Btw in a pure materialistic world view neurons don't need meditation, but we do.

So far, I'm pretty sure spirituality is up to the individual. Prescribing to the Self is a little presumptuous. No one is God, each is a fraction of God while remaining whole. Even that is hard to wrap the human mind around, but we keep forgetting and trying to be the impossible, independently; without Other. Deepak used to speak to me in my earlier days, but I came to know less is more. Convincing others to come around to my way of experience (thinking is superficial) is not possible or desirable. In getting mired in particulars, we lose everything. This is not good over breakfast. Good luck.

"The genes that are involved with self regulation went up some seventeen fold. The paper was not accepted for three years." For good reason. The genes? LOL What, the number of them? Woo woo pseudoscience at it's best. He's an expert at it. But I really want to believe him and we don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater. I can see Sam Harris exasperated and shaking his head. But thanks anyhow. It's harmless amusing woo woo with nuggets of wisdom. As usual from Deepak.

mRna! I wouldn't sing and dance about this technology. It worries me that this 'technology' is being developed in any kind of shape or form. I wouldn't be proud of hooking up with Moderna or any pharmaceutical company. AI worries me too! Still with the natural self. I didn't finish watching this I'm afraid. Sorry.

What a sad day for the podcast to have this charlatan on, especially one that Dan has heavily criticized in the past. To give someone who is the anti-thesis to everything science and legitimize his viewpoints is a huge step backward for this podcast.
