Even though this video is two years old, it's still nice to see a scsi connector attached to an Akai every once in a while.

can someone please tell me how you sync the video with the audio ?? i understand that if you have a camera and another mic you can click or clap your hands, but when it is a direct signal you have nothing to match up the two tracks ???

+Matthew Nash trial and error. They also have headphones to hear from one ear while the other ear is listening to the other track that's why you see DJ's wear their headphones sometimes with one cup off the ear, lol. I"m no expert but that's what I've observed.

+Matthew Nash Record video with camera then Record audio with sound card and when you have the video file and sound file on your PC, you drag them both into your video editing software and line them up beside each other on the timeline. Does this help ?

Hey Paul Dope tracks man.. Could I please ask you the trick to getting your drums to Push and Pull right on the MPC?.. Do you set it to Double Time? Or is there some other special setting?.. I've tried all the swing percents on 1/16 but the groove still sounds stiff you know?

@Lalaland.001

Tektube the mpc 2000xl is a midi production center, that's what the acronym originally stands for. Some will argue that it means music production center. The machine itself, is completely empty and devoid of sounds. That's what most real hardware samplers are,...empty boxes. That being said, I still think that up to this day, this machine has been unsurpassed in it's swing and midi clock. You would need a soundsource of sorts to get sounds into the box. This could be a soundmodule, a synth, a recordplayer, a tapedeck or any other soundsource. They can be either analog or midi. I hope that helps...

@@tektube6913 sure thing, no problem at all. There are no dumb or stupid questions, just unanswered ones. NO shame in being new to things, we all started somewhere. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. MPC2000xl's can be had pretty cheap these days, and are a good start at getting the grips on these kinds of machines. $400-$500 will get you one of these beasts. A lot of heavy weight producers still swear by these boxes. Have fun and be creative....
