Sometimes the little things make a big difference when you are archery or rifle hunting for white-tailed deer. That is certainly the case in this first hunting tip where I explain the importance of stopping before going through transitions and edge habitat and whenever crossing paths, opening or trails. For sure, one human step can sometimes equal a hundred yards or more as deer are excellent at seeing movement and un-natural shapes (like us hunters). Even mature bucks can be on their feet at surprising times so taking a few moments to make sure the 'coast is clear' can help you up your odds at seeing more deer. Identifying deer before they see you enables you to stalk any deer you see, try to call or rattle a deer in, or simply await the deer to come to you. Don't make the hundred yard step without stopping...in this video I will show you how.
