THe smell of those earth wafers are extremely nostalgic for me, remind me of hunting with my dad when I was very young. I highly recommend checking out the Glenn's deer handle, it's basically a heavy-duty version of that amazon drag you got that's built to last. My dad has had one for over 20 years and it still gets the job done. Many memories of dragging huge deer through thickets with that drag and it taking it like a champ.

Butt Out works really well. I've been using it for years on end. I like the deer drag that you put your arm through the strap and put the strap around your shoulder. I wouldn't go for the plastic handle drag. I've seen the Butcher quickly go over the meat with a small torch to get rid of the random hairs stuck to the meat.

7:30 I'm new to bow hunting and have gun hunted my whole life. I always aimed for a double lung with rifle and learned my lesson this year when an absolute stud 9 point (neighbor got him and scored 152 green) jumped my string at 40 yards and i took the fur off his back. Still cant stop thinking about it. Heart shots with bow forever forward.

For a deer drag, I modified an old tree stand harness. Use a nylon strap with a carabiner on each end, make a slip knot around the deer's head and clip the other end to the tether attachment point on the back. Walk out of the woods as usual.

I've used the fresh earth scent wafers multiple times and they work great. They used to sell acorn and apple scents as well which worked extremely well. Of course I was always super careful about washing my gear, scent control and I wasn't sitting in my stand moving around cameras either lol. That milkweed stuff looks awesome.

Agreed. So I run my gear in an ozone tent but hang the wafers from my stand or pack once I'm in my spot. I haven't had a deer bust me yet.

The milk weed works really well as you can visibly see where your scent is going until it’s out of sight or it hits the ground. For the powder type you can refill or make your own with corn starch or un scented talcum powder. The woman who was pissed at her hubby and said pocket lint would do the same probably washes her hubbys hunting clothes in something you can smell from the next county! That’s why her husband needs to check the wind! The butt out, never used one. Don’t need to. The butcher takes care of that! For the hair use a torch or lint roller. But wash the carcass down with a water hose and that should take care of the problem by itself.

Have had the same fresh scent wafers for almost 10 years, use the pins they come with to pin to my hood or my hat…. Prolly doesn’t do much honestly. I have used the butt-out for years also, works great if you use before gutting and then tie off the tube you pull out, pull back thru and out with rest of intestines, great video, really enjoying the shorter review/testing videos

question about the butt-out, from what I saw in the review and from what he did in the video.....do you cut around the anus before inserting or can that wait until after you have it tied off?

Off topic, but newbie question; when having three different broadheads ready to shoot in your quiver, doesn’t the difference in flight tendencies between broadheads come into concern? Do you just aim differently depending on what you’re gonna let fly?
@Flipout4Chris
10 ай бұрын
If you tune them they should all impact where you’re aiming. Mechanicals typically fly like field points, so not too much tuning required. Where you typically have some differences is in different arrow weights with different nocks or fletching sizes.

I've used the Fresh Earth Scent and have looked at them all. The milkweed looks great, but I might just break up a leaf, etc. The Butt Out seems to work best with larger animals like bucks from what I've seen in the comments, it wasn't supposed to break the intestines like that. The drag also looks helpful. I'd probably pass on the grip sheets though. Thanks for a good review video.

Just use a blowtorch for the hair. For scent control, just mix in a bunch of branches and weeds from the area you are going to be hunting in the storage container with your clothes, all your clothes, even down to the underwear you are going to be wearing that day. Just be careful using pine/cedar branches around your underwear or you'll be finding some way to get pine sap off of your nutsack. 😁🤣 As for wind, just put the milkweed in your back pocket, no need to put it in a container you need to use both hands and a lot of movement to get results from. Just take one hand reach into your back pocket and pull out some milkweed and release.
