Deer have become a major pest around the Chilterns, and elsewhere, eating out all the undergrowth, young saplings, and chewing of the bark. And one of the buggers ran out in front of my car, did a load of damage. Five cars in succession ran over the body, so there wasn't much left to take home for dinner.

Thanks for getting in touch. It’s good to know we are in the right area to try help make a difference. We could not believe the numbers around their to be honest and I can see why they are causing such problems to trees and land. Down there again this year hopefully. Do you do some shooting your self?

a silly question maybe but, how does muntjak taste? can it be compared with roebuck for instance ? Happy hunting from Norway ✌️

Great question. You can tell the difference but not by much, we’ve had some nice Muntjac. They are harder to skin though. Tastes similar to Roe deer, come over for a stalk to try some 👍🏼

Nice - like gamey beef. I have found it to be more tender than beef, makes a lovely stew.

Well said mate. Slow cooked in stew with dumplings. Check out Chef Pascal, he does some amazing meals with venison.

Many people rate them as the best venison but I like fallow, roe and muntjac equally.
