It's our last day out on the hill and we are on the hunt for Red Deer .
We start nice and early and spend our time glassing the vast open hill for any signs of red deer . After spotting a small heard, after covering a lot of ground with the binos and thermal its time to start the hunt. The sun is out but so is the wind , using the lay of the land to conceal our approach we make our way in closer , shooting the deer is only half the job , a lot of hard work and further care comes when getting the beast out from the hill . With the weather warming up , time is crucial to getting the deer into the larder before the meat can go bad , after all our aim is enter all this meat into the food chain .
Just an incredible time with Jake from @westcapadesUK a true friend and great partner to have out in the sticks , don't forget to hit him up on socials for a look .
A huge thanks to the land owner for inviting us , it was a pleasure to get out there and help manage the ever-growing deer population , so good to see the efforts that people are going to, to try and show how sustainable deer harvesting can be and make it more available to people in the general public .
