Might need a new piston or rings depending on how many hours are on it. Or it could be a timing issue

Oddly enough...I had an overheating problem that took the better part of 18 months to solve. Ended up being bad radiator AND bad injection pump. I replaced and timed the pump per the manual, which was actually wrong. Should have been 13° BTDC, but was 18°. It ran mostly good (no misses, but bogged under full load, great cold start), but still overheated. Now that I fixed the timing, it runs better (no bogging), doesn't overheat, but this misfire happens when cold, and the intermittent miss you can see as its warmed up. Before replacing the injection pump, I pulled the head, and the cylinder bores looked almost new. Compression was also good. Has just about 1500hrs.

@@stratoblaster92 Ah, Well good luck man I hope my advice helped at least a little. I personally own a 214 gasser so i’m not familiar with the diesels.
