no matter which live video of them you may look up, it all sounds amazing. do bands bring their own sound engineers? cause this one ... is fantastic

They must or they do it themselves or something because it's always spot on

A Band like Deerhunter used to tour enough, and were at the top of their game, back then. They were raking in the dough, playing festivals all year long, sometimes. They do have their own Live Engineer, He was actually a buddy of mine, and somehow, throughout it all, I only got to actually sit and chat and chill with the guy, while watching one of the best bands around, like once, for no more than 2 minutes, because we were both hard at work all day, and that Festival Life is something else, my friend.... But yeah.... To answer your question, The reason that these videos from live shows turn out to have such great audio in them, is because someone like me gets paid an extra bucketful, on top of our usual rate, to ensure that whomever is promoting whichever band, to make sure that they sound good. And, typically, they ALWAYS sound AMAZEBALLZ.

@@fattyma4 I took over for Deerhunter FOH from 2015 on. Just browing through YT to relive the pre-pandemic tour days with DH. I mixed this show, and remember an incredible performance, and my first time mixing on a Rivage (that happened to have many bugs that day!).

@@RC-SATX i'm reworking some playlists that got deleted when i switched 'tube accounts, if you want to check those as i update. not knowing your favored genres, i'll give you a random top-10 stun-inducing classics, starting with the Deerhunter reference [dates are ballpark]: Dream Baby Dream- Suicide, 1977 [vcl- Alan Vega, kbd- Martin Rev]; Expecting to Fly- Buffalo Springfield .66; All Along The Watchtower & I Dreamed I Saw St Augustine- Dylan .68; Worried Blues- Frank Hutchison .28; He Stopped Loving Her Today- George Jones .86; Here - Pavement .90i; I Never Loved Her- Starfires .67; the lp Closer- Joy Division .80; and Strange Lights .07 these reflect my own love=life obsessions; there are other hairraising "shock of the new" sonic breakthroughs i could offer, from Howlin Wolf to rockabilly Beatles "punk" Daisy Age and on...forever] but you know what sounds most electrify you. not a woman artist on the list, being inspiration to the best male songwriting i know of- a topic of discussion in itself. let me know of anything you think i ought to check out peace
