@@kingwilly8041 Well said, and basically the truth . They showed up in my neck of the woods in Sept. Of 88' and they just weren't the same band that I had seen in 83' - I wish someone would do an interview with Pete Willis and get the real story on what happened when things fell apart during the recording of Pyromania. I have heard bits and pieces that Mutt Lange was responsible for pushing Pete out because Pete was against the commercialization and pop sound direction the band was heading in and that the raging alcoholic excuse to boot Pete was bullshit because Pete wasnt drinking anymore or any less than he had been since 10th grade.

Steve Clark bought my Gibson SG on consignment at Guitars ETC. in Tucson, Arizona when they were on tour. Sadly, I wasn't there and tragically he had left us within a year. According to my friend who actually sold it to him, he said "Steve and someone who had Steve's credit card walked in to the shop and Steve just went, 'I'll have that one, that one, and that one.'" And "one," of those was my crap SG that I had bought used in Phoenix a year earlier at Bizarre Guitar. It was beat up and had been broken at the neck then fixed. I was really surprised. It's the closest I'll ever get in my life to being "near," a true rock legend. I think my asking price was like $180.00. I can't help wonder what it may be worth now. I also can't help dreaming that before he moved on, he rocked that old broom. What a titan.
