I converted the front axle of my Land Rover Defender from 10 spline to 24 spline with Maxi Drive uprated half shafts. The differential was replaced with an Eaton Detroit Truetrac ATB limited slip differential for better offroad performance. CV's were upgraded from the later RTC6862 to early 1 ton AEU2522 type, the strongest made by Land Rover. Maxi Drive flanges completed the install. The conversion included changing the cv's and bearings to oil lubrication for longer life.
This was to improve reliability and strength for remote area travel of outback Australia. I had already upgraded the rear axle with Maxi Drive half shafts, flanges and a Detroit Truetrac, and it has performed flawlessly.
