In this review/tutorial, I compare some of my real Kodak Portra 400 photos to Panasonic S5 footage that I run through the Dehancer Pro Davinci Resolve plugin.
Side note: the comparison video clips are graded with the Portra 400 profile, while the rest of the video clips (intro sequence, misc b-roll, talking head) are graded with the Vision3 250d profile.
At first I was skeptical, then with a few adjustments I ended up with stuff that's startlingly close to the real thing. Do note that you'll need raw or log footage for best results.

If not for the fact that I only applied film emulation to video footage and not still images in this video, would you have been able to tell which is film?
(hint: I'd look in the highlights, especially when prosumer-grade cameras like Panasonic S5/S5II simply lack the kind of overexposure latitude that Arri Alexa cameras have, especially the newest Alexa 35 model)
Special thanks to Dehancer for making this video possible.
