What a difference! Gives the bike a really contemporary bang-up-to-date look. Reckon I'll try that with my old gixer srad. Wonder how durable it'll turn out? Certainly looks hard and paint-like. Hmm, can you get that thinners type stuff that plastidip do for making repairs etc I wonder? You could almost call it permanent with something like that!
@Moonfleet41
10 жыл бұрын
You really could do all sorts mate, it dries like sticker vinyl itself and you can put stickers on top of it, so you could almost make a whole new paint job with a bit of thought... and it's as permanent as regular paint work as long as you don't scuff it... which is pretty much the same as regular paint... you wouldn't ride around with that with scuffs on it, give it a go mate, you've nothing to lose!

Anthony Hulse If you mean the sheet vinyl they wrap cars with..then its a real task to get it to fit perfectly into all the tiny creases and corners of a bike's bodywork...the spray on stuff is ten times easier..and just as resiliant...

Wow what a difference! it looks so much better than it did in Orange, personally I don't like the Orange or green Tiger Colours, Can't really understand Triumph's thinking behind it, I wouldn't have thought that they would have been well selling colours, having said that it's amazing how many people are satisfied to ride away with whatever colour is available in the showroom, rather than wait for what they actually want, good vid buddy, RSM8.

You could say that about any vehicle, colour means very little to some people, and with this, the deal on the bike and the condition was bang on, it was local from a trusted dealer here, and at a really good price.. the colour was of little importance after all that.. .and with this new temporary wrap paint it means even less still... i see a mini revolution in this stuff....take care fellah... good to hear form you..! Hi Dennis, sadly i love the 955i at the height it is...admittedly its at its lowest seat setting (i presume you know the seat is adjustable lol)....and im just about flat foot down in boots and 6ft tall.....they truly are one of the tallest bikes on the market.... Bad news is mate, they don't have link plates, the rear shock bolts directly between the frame and the swing arm..... There is a chance you can make it work though, there's lots of adjustment in the rear preload, so wind all that off first, then wind back in at least two turns so its not at bottom (there are about 20 turns top to bottom), then get the seat on the lowest clip, and drop the yokes down the forks about 10mm......and you'll find its much better... you will loose a fare bit of handling as the rear leg likes to work best in the middle settings...but its no good having the bike handling well if you can't get yer plates down..lol.. its all a balance aye.. See how you do with that and let me know buddy.. Good luck Del.

Moonfleet41 Hey Del, thanks for the advice. It had a Corbin seat which was really wide. I had the uphostery shop shave the sides and cut the stops off the bottom of the seat. Now I'm just a little up on my toes and have gotten use to it. I like the suspension so much I didn't what to screw it up LOL. Just watched you video on the front brake clean. Now I don't have to go to the manual to change the pads. :) Thanks again Brother for the videos and advice.

Even if you have to cover it every year it is worth it, that orange was god awful, although I suspect I will be putting an orange go faster stripe down the middle on my project when/if I eventually get around to paint. One thing I would change though is to dull down the shiny on the hand guards, they seem to be a tad too bright for the look of the bike and detracts from the awesomeness, You have turned a munter into a sweet ride, congratulations.

Thanks brother, really appreciate that, know what you mean about the hand guards, they're plain ABS plastic and could well do with a coat of wrap when I get the next batch!

Del, Next time you suddenly cut to a 'before' shot of the Tiger please give us a warning. Nice job - the bike looks more purposeful and less posey.

Hi Del and Penny, hope you are both well, sorry not commenting for ages, life been a bit crazy and busy lately, love what you've done with the Tiger, looks grrrrrrreat! By the way I noticed the black seat back on the bonnie in the background while you filmed this, what's that about? where did the brown, tan, coffee coloured one go to? I liked it. Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul.. i sold the Sixty8 seat on ebay to raise the money to buy the Triumph Alcantara seat for Penny's bike... they are so rare that we had to get in touch with the factory so they could recall one from a dealer on the USA, the only one still not sold it seams....lucky to get it..and worth sacrificing the brown one for.. ! take care mate..
