A recipe for a delicious apple and nut cake in which the taste of sour apples contrasts with the amazing taste of walnuts. These two dominant flavors are translated into a shortcrust pastry topped with a chocolate coating sprinkled with coconut flakes. Eating them gives you the impression that you are in cloud nine. I got the recipe from my mother, who always makes them for Christmas, but in fact it is a great and delicious cake for any occasion. The shortcrust recipe shown in the video can of course be used for other sweets.
Recipe for apple and nut cake
Shortcrust pastry
Ingredients:
500 g of type 480 wheat flour
150 g of crystal sugar
3 yolks
200 g of butter
2 tablespoons of sour cream 18%
1½ - 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
2 spoons of baking powder
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead until smooth, cohesive. After put on min. 60 minutes in the fridge. After 60 minutes, divide into 3 equal pieces and make 3 tops with dimensions of 22x33 cm. I show how to make them in the movie. Puncture the finished tops with a fork and bake them in the oven preheated to 190 ° C on the middle shelf for 8 minutes. Top / bottom heating baking temperature 190 ° C.
Nut mass
Ingredients:
2 cups (230 g) shelled walnuts
⅔ glasses | 160 ml milk 1.5%
150 g powdered sugar
2 tablespoons spirit (or rum)
200 g of butter
Apple mass
Ingredients:
1500 g of sour apples
3 tablespoons cristal sugar
2 teespoons vanilla sugar
1½-2 teaspoons of gelatin
Punch until soaked
150 ml of strong tea
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons of spirit
Chocolate glaze
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons dark cocoa
50 g of butter
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of water
Sprinkles
2-3 tablespoons of coconut shrims
Arranging shortcrust pastry tops
We do not soak the lower table top with punch. Put an even layer of apple mass on it, then on the mass we put 2 sheets of shortcrust pastry, which we soak well with punch. After soaking, put the nut mass in an even layer, which we cover with the last 3 top of shortcrust pastry. We also soak the top table top with punch. Then we make chocolate glaze and smear it on the top surface. Sprinkle the topping with coconut shavings and put the finished dough in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours, but it's worth waiting until the next day, because then it's best :) Enjoy :)
