Part of Romanian traditional food has oriental roots (but you have to go in a traditional Romanian restaurant, for example "Caru' cu Bere"): Sarma, baklava, saraili, musaka, etc. (Wallachia, where Bucharest is located, has been under the Ottoman Empire for 300 years).... "Până când nu te iubeam" (Maria Tanase) is an oriental "manea", in turkish "mānì." (search on youtube) ... It is a famous song, considered a traditional Romanian song. Bucharest was considered in the past the "gate" of Europe to the Orient (Ottoman Empire)

Fun Fact: Supa Dupa is owned and founded by one of the first Romanian rappers called Vlad Dobrescu, many consider him one of the founders of the rap and hip hop industry here.

@@TheSchells I consider it really dope as well, he complained much about society in his songs and then he figured out that he has the power to make a positive change, even with a little restaurant or chain now, you can be the change in society thou it is little if most of us behave around that lines it is good others will do the same in their domain.

Manuc's Inn (Turkish architecture) is the oldest operating hotel building in Bucharest, Romania. It also houses a popular restaurant, several bars, a coffee-house, and (facing the street) several stores and an extensive bar. The inn was built in 1808 as a khan, and originally owned by a wealthy and flamboyant Armenian entrepreneur, Emanuel Mârzaian, better known under his Turkish name Manuc Bei.

Did you guys visit the enormous palace of Ceausescu? It is a strange wonder in the middle of the old buildings. When I was there they told that when the President ordered to put the lights on.. the lights of the local people went out by lack of power and the palace having so many heavy light armatures... Of course it was horrible he and his wife lived in such luxury while so many people were living in poor conditions..
