The Driver seat instruction was really good. It is in how you set your trailer before you start the backing. I run a Route for a local Bakery to Retailers also. I run 4 days Tues.-Fri. Most days I have 15-17 stops. Your 20 minute turn time is on par with my work. I also Merch. There is a Relationship built with the receivers and store staff. I did like the driver perspective and narrative. Good of Pepsi as a Company to allow us to see the day in the life.

I just found your channel Cody. Interesting, I worked for Pepsi in 1963,64 and 65 in Winnipeg Manitobs Canada. Things were quite a bit different back then. It was all glass bottles with wooden shells, we called them. The plastic cases nowadays. We had 10 oz, 16oz and quarts which were called family size. And there were no pre-sales back then. It was all driver sales to big and little stores. I'm wondering if you guys and gals have heard this one from back then. < Coca Cola came to town, Pepsi Cola shot him down, Dr. Pepper fixed him up. Now they all drink 7-up >. It was cute back in the 60's. I was 17 when I started with them, as a swamper ( helper ) . Had to be 18 to have a chauffer's license up here. Oh yes, you had to sort out your empties from all the other soft drink company's. Lots of cut fingers in Safeway stores, as they threw all the bottles together in one bin. Anyways, thanks for the vid to get me reminiscing.

I worked for Pepsi and Coke as a sidebay truck and pallet truck. Worst job ever on the sidebay truck, especially when they would load me down with 700 cases at 13 different stores. We were only supposed to carry around 500-550 and about 10 stores due to having to stock the coolers and machines. The sales people would always over stock the stores and constantly having to take cases back out of date. The last straw was when they started making drivers unload the returns when they had full time warehouse employees.

Good upload. And I have a question. I’m assuming you guys haven’t implemented the Geobox system yet by looking at your plastic pallets? Are you guys still running side loaders? I’ve been working at Pepsi in Las Vegas, Nevada as a driver for almost 20 years now. Life really is but a vapor as James states in the Bible. It’s nice to see how different states run their sites. When your thumbnail said, “biggest load ever” I thought you were going to be breaking down the pallets at a c-store or something 😂😂. Anyways, I hope you have a good career for as long as you’re there. Blessings to you, young man.

I’m looking into to applying for the one in athens GA, I’m currently at Publix in the warehouse and I used to drive for them too, are the trucks all autos? Or some manuals and are the routes based on seniority and do you do the same stores/stops every time
@1017cutlass

Also is it paid straight by the hour or is there some production? Like Publix pays by the hour and load kinda, they’ll give you a run that says 4 hours if you do it in 4 or less you get paid 4 hours if you take 5-6 hours you only get paid 4 hours

What’s so hard about this job? I’m a new trucker and haven’t started my first job yet but looking for one. I wanna start long haul since it’s recommended, but what’s so bad about Pepsi? I get Sysco, that’s just too hard. FYI, I am a skinny dude but not that skinny.

Hey, how are you bro. 3 weeks ago, I went for an interview with pepsi, out in Philadelphia. When I got there, the lady asked for my cdl license, I showed her my cdl, and she said, am sorry I cannot interview you at the moment because you have a manual restriction on your cdl. It would be nice if the tell cdl holders that if they have manual restrictions on there cdl, that they cannot hire or into them until they take the restriction off. But are all pepsi trucks manual?
@Codystruckingadventures

That’s odd most everybody has gone to automatic and they usually don’t even worry about it anymore. Most of every company including Pepsi is automatic now. That sucks I’m sorry to hear that but I agree they should have said something before hand!
@goodmanners_7164

Pepsi plant im at is about 65 % automatic ..As a relief driver we bid by seniority for Dbay routes which are side loader trailers and basically there’s a 1 in 3 chance you will get a manual truck and you won’t know what truck you have till you pick your route ,I say that to say it’s important depending on the plant and the trucks they have

I deliver alcohol and have anywhere between 15-27 stops all using a hand truck for offloading, our company has no lift gate trucks and all delivery trucks are class B only. Why do drivers that have lift gates, and using pallet jacks use the loading docks? Yes it’s “easier” but those who are trying to deliver at same location has to wait, and run their clock down until said dock is avail. Wouldn’t it be better if lift gate trucks actually use their lift gates and not the dock?

I ran a massive Coca-Cola warehouse. A full load of cans was about 46k pounds. TOTAL weight was ... marginal, but there was too much weight on the front axle. MANY times we would have a driver come back to our facility screaming about his $1200 fine from the weight station. Oops. We never did learn to do a 2-1-2 up front, but always went two across front to back.
