I recognize that hard drive. It's from the Sony you got 8 years ago then you put it in one of the D500s. Nice to see it still works. Also great to see a computer video again.

No idea how you remember that, but correct it was in the D505 originally lol

@@accordinglyryan You didn’t have a D505 in 2015. I remember watching the trash picked laptops video the day it came out. The hard drive went out of the Sony and into a D500 that had issues with keeping time and USB ports.

Dudeee this brought back memories of my grandpa's old D600, I remember trying to play YT vids on it as a kid and it could only decode 240p lol. I kept it after he passed in 2017, I tried to copy old photos off the HDD but I could never find a USB to laptop IDE converter. It's still in my closet, I might just pull it out again!

Hell yeah dawg do it! I bought mine on eBay in 2012 and I've had it ever since lol. I had a D500 before that I got from my middle school when they closed down which is where I got the idea for this KZitem channel

I just watched your Optiplex video from 13 years ago and then went to this. Your voice may have changed, but it's great to see that despite all the time that has passed, you're still here, making yet another Dell review. I applaud you for your consistency sir!

Excellent choice of operating system. Windows 2000 was so stable and my choice of OS all the way until I got a new computer for Christmas 2008.

Sounds like your Installation Process was definitely..fun without the Dell Dock, can see why when I first got my D420 that they ended up for the smaller D Series laptops having the Removable USB DVD Drive add-on with their funny USB but also USB with some extra pins cable, that and of course by then USB Booting actually existed

i have an ibm thinkpad t21 witch has the pentium 3 in it, but its not clocked as high, i think like 750mhz or 800mhz, very beaten up but still works all these years later. Used to be my dads old work laptop
@iliasgmf

The reason i believe that dell might went with an pentium 3 on this laptop is because pentium 3's are consuming less power and also they generate less heat, a pentium 4 will suck up more power resulting less battery life. So since it's an sub-notebook it would make sense to use a chip that consumes less power and generate less heat.

Yeah I think the Pentium 4 wasn't used for the basis of anything after it(other than the Pentium D, but that's just two glued together). If I had to guess it was that the TDP of the design wasn't sustainable after a die shrink
