The Delmarva Peninsula is a roughly 170-mile peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. It's named by the three states that have land on it: "Del"-"Mar"-"Va": Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. It goes from the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal near Delaware City south towards Cape Charles, and contains the Eastern shores of Virginia and Maryland, and nearly all of Delaware (at least almost all of Delaware's area, not population).
