At 5:30 you see why these are called cabinet saws. The blade arbor lift and tilt mechanism is attached to the cabinet, with the top separate. Contractor saws have everything attached to the top.

Yes and cabinet saws are much more stable and easier to adjust if needed. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I notice that you removed the arbor assembly but there were no belts on it. Wouldn't they be threaded through the assembly? And wouldn't you need to remove the arbor shaft to get them off?
@elwellboy

The belts are not threaded through the arbor assembly. The arbor pulley is on the outer side of the assembly. The belts are easy to remove/replace by simply lifting the motor to release tension on belts and slip them off. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.

why not do a tear down in the truck and take the top off then out with the motor then remove the art deco base. Looks real simple to me. Your taking it apart anyway ?

hahaha - That's exactly what I asked myself after i got it in the shop and started taking it apart. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Awesome. Good quality old iron. Love mine. I've got a few more vintage Delta machines (bandsaw jointer and table saw) ready for restoration projects this winter. Thanks for watching and commenting.

May I ask, how much did you pay for the saw?
@elwellboy

I paid $250. Wasn't able to run it before paying. Turned out to be in great shape after a lot of cleaning. Thanks for watching and commenting.

How come you killed the sound taking off the table?
@elwellboy
2 жыл бұрын
That section was running at about 5x normal speed which really distorts the sound so I just muted it for that section. Removing the bars and top is pretty straightforward - just removing bolts - so didn't see a need to add any commentary. Thanks for watching and commenting.
