Ok I have done 100 of service calls on these Delta touch faucets and 99% of time they are installed incorrectly. The bad activation is due to a few things first if the shank of the faucet is in contact with the edge of the sink that a big problem it actually grounds the faucet and causes false activation or none at-all same if it’s in contact with granite or solid surface counter as they are also conductive. Simply use electrical tape around the top part of the shank and re-install the faucet. Other issue is the wire from the faucet is in contact with wire connected to the shank they need to be separated I’ve actually seen plumbers twist them together a big no no. Last make sure the insulated is installed between the nut and counter under the sink. Just because a plumber installed it doesn’t mean it was done correctly everyone makes mistakes especially if they’re not familiar with the technology. When correctly installed they preform beautifully.

Delta sent me a spacer, part #RP100167 that goes in the sink hole prior to installing the faucet. This should prevent the shank from grounding against the sink. Installed it today along w the new solenoid they sent and all working well so far. Regarding the wire from the faucet contacting the shank I put a piece of split loom tubing on that wire to further insulate it from the shank.

I had my for 2 years + and never give me any problem a week ago started a little lick so found a video on KZitem on how to fix the problem the solenoid was dirty so I cleaned it and but back together, now blue light on but touch do not work, work only manually, Delta will send us a solenoid soon Hope that fix my problem, great customer service.

This is similar to my experience also. Delta customer service is great but they won't admit that this invention/technology of theirs is inconsistent and buggy. They sent me MULTIPLE solenoids. At one time I had gone through 4 new solenoids. They had me send them multiple pictures of my install after talking with multiple members of their customer service trying all different sorts of experiments to make this work correctly. I wasted a lot of time - more time than anyone should on a faucet. The final straw for me was Delta approving a "one time" replacement with a brand new one. Guess what it has an updated solenoid but.... it's glitchy too. Disappointingly, we now use it like a manual faucet. Best of luck to you.

My faucet had the same issues. Six months after replacing the solenoid, it happened again. Water would trickle or not work at all, then sometimes would work normally. I removed the solenoid and connected the water line directly to the spout. Took five minutes and done.

So, you paid for a touch faucet and got a manual faucet for the same price. Great deal, another American made garbage.

Is it just me, or does your handle touch the backsplash? That could be your problem, especially if a droplet of water bridges a tiny gap; splashes happen. We have 3 of these in our kitchen and they have worked 99.9% of the time for 7 years. The most common issue with our Touch2o mechanism is when water or hard water deposits get between the joints; cleaning the faucet spout and letting it dry fixes it. We finally had one of our solenoids die, I've ordered a replacement, but we love ours.

Mine has worked fine a few years. Every now and then I get this problem. The touch gets iffy and it will turn off/on randomly. This happened once a year. I'd clean where the batteries plug in and it'd work again. But now I cannot for the life of me fix this sink.

This is similar to my experience also. I got tired of tapping the faucet repeatedly like a fool thinking "now it will work". My kids got a good laugh but they got tired of it too. My wife wanted to rip it out after I could no longer convince her that we needed to still give it a chance after trying to troubleshoot the stupid thing with Delta over a dozen times. Delta customer service is great but they won't admit that this invention/technology of theirs is inconsistent and buggy.

As a plumber I can’t believe people buy these things. We are constantly taking them out. Simply put they do not work. They’re a great idea but they just do not work. Don’t waste your money and just buy a nice normal kitchen faucet.
@dspnnetwork7292

As consumers, we buy these because they are high tech (or supposed to be) and besides the "cool" factor they actually allow for much better convenience when using the faucet repeatedly during a cooking session - when you're constantly turning the faucet on repeatedly. With that said I couldn't agree more - get yourself a nice regular faucet people. If this had worked flawlessly, like it was meant to, and didn't have any maintenance (besides changing a dead battery), this would be a top notch fixture.

As a plumber you should maybe follow the instructions I been on many service calls where the faucet were installed incorrectly by plumbers who simply either didn’t understand the installation
@Onhaey

@@deltatroubleshooter7968 it’s not a hard concept to grasp. The wire that clips to the stem of the faucet always corrodes over time. The touch reaction is hit or miss at times. The ones I’ve seen you have to physically leave the valve in the on position for the touch feature to work which just seems dumb to begin with. It’s a gimmick and people buy it for the “wow” factor. But in the end it’s just over complicating things. How hard is it to turn a faucet on and off manually (your still touching it either way)

@@Onhaey curious if the issue is still present when ac adapter is used instead of solenoid? And this dude’s 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 videos were never shot I guess...
@Onhaey

@@Faust_77 ac adapter and solenoid are two different parts. The faucet won’t work without the solenoid. All the ac adapter does is bypass the battery pack and plug straight into an outlet for power. All I can say is make sure all the parts of the faucet aren’t touching anything conductive even the countertop.
