"Great Aoudad Wrangler Mikey, origin story" "Yeehaw, partner! Let me spin ya a yarn 'bout the time them Aoudad sheep tried to take over from Matt & Mere at Desperado Resort down in the heart of Texas. Now, this here tale's so wild, it'd make a rattlesnake think twice! Them Aoudads, they were crafty critters, horned and rugged as the Texas terrain itself. They came down from the rugged canyons, claimin' territory like they owned the joint. Desperado Resort was under siege, and folks didn't know what to do. It was a true showdown in the Lone Star State! But just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a cloud of dust kicked up on the horizon, and there he was - the one and only Great Aoudad Wrangler Mikey, a legend 'round these parts. He Ran into the scene like a Texas Ranger’s stallion himself on a mission, with his plastic hard hat and boots tougher than armadillo hide. Mikey was a man of pure Texan grit, his mustache alone could wrangle a herd of wild cattle. With a steely glare and a voice that could shake the heavens, Mikey took charge. He hollered, 'This here's Texas, and we don't back down from no goats nor sheep!' With a single flick of his wrist, he roped them Aoudads like they were yesterday's news. The Great Aoudad Wrangler Mikey didn't just save Desperado Resort; he restored Texas pride. From that day on, the Aoudads knew better than to mess with the Lone Star State. And Mikey? He walked into the Texan sunset, (eat’n Aoudad leg) his legend burnin' brighter than the Lone Star itself. So remember, partner, when the goin' gets tough in Texas, there's always a Mikey to wrangle the wildest of beasts and keep the Lone Star State as manly and inspiring as ever. 🤠🐏🌅

Guys, that cable problem is one you are going to have any time a truck gets used to regularly haul acidic soils- lots of oilfield tailings would be a good one to find in Texas, being hauled to "designated Federal dump sites". The cable could have been resourced by a Morse Marine cable; you need to find one nearby- somewhere around Crystal Lake would be my bet. If you can overnight the cable and remaining info, it is likely they can build up a cable with much of the additional hardware and sent it back by a Big Brown Truck in days. Also, look for more corrosion damages- that truck is nowhere near old enough to look as crapped out underneath; if Matt plans on keeping it- and it is a really good chassis for what he is up too, he needs to get that thing cleaned and the chassis blasted and re primed as well as tough coating. I've seen DTs like this in S. Louisiana servicing oil patch calls; if they aren't taken care of scrupulously, they are scrap metal in less than ten years- very low value, rusty scrap metal. Also where I saw the Morse cable sub for your PTO. On the clevis; go to Big Orange or similar hardware store; match the clevis to a tensioner that is long enough and the correct size and thread to match your application. Yu can thank me later- Matt is sure to blow up, burn down or otherwise discombobulate something else before you can get the current lot out of your parking lot.

The three places that you’ll find the Morse cable for the PTO closest to you or the quickest will be A, a hydraulic repair shop / or mining type of industrial supply B, boat dealer/ marina, the same Morse cables are used to steer both onboard engine boat lower units and outboard engines. Also used to control shifter linkage on the same boats. C, tractor trailer dealership / parts supply as well as big truck stops that have a towing or repair branch. It’s been years since I was down your way in a semi but I know y’all have em down there. I’ve also found the Morse cables at Semi chrome shops and some of the Flying J and Pilot truck stops. Don’t know if any of that’s any help to y’all or not but figured I’d mention it. Also, from the looks of what’s coming up in the future on Matt’s channel it may be a good time to hit up the local trucking companies that have dump trailers for a piece of dump liner that they’ve either taken out of a trailer when they buy new liners. Another way I’ve run across dump liner is the coal haulers around here sometimes buy the liner by the roll, most times the measurements end up leaving a few feet or several at the end of the roll. I’ve put it in dump trailers that way starting at the back, layering the next piece 8 to 10 inches over the front of it and so on till it’s all the way to the front. Around here having to haul coal in the winter and asphalt in the summer it’s an absolute necessity to keep wet coal and rock from freezing in the corners and helps keep asphalt insulated better so it doesn’t cool and start getting stuck in the front corners where air hits it the most. Anyway back to Matt’s projects for the resort. He’s mentioned tearing down buildings, hauling dirt and blasting rock to haul for the roads. That eighth inch you added won’t last long with a mix of those materials being loaded with a trackhoe even if you used the alloy wear plate. What I’m getting at is that having liner material anchored into at least the front 2/3rds of the bed will save all of you guys a lot of headaches. The headaches include having a piece of material hang up in the front corner or have a bucket of damp material vacuum itself to the bottom of the bed when it gets dropped from too high, both instances will turn over a single axle end dump truck. I’ve also dropped rocks all the way thru a guy’s truck with a trackhoe and trying to be easy, not knowing he was running the route with rotten and broken crossmembers in his tandem. It’ll be well worth the little bit of time it takes y’all to look into it and if you get a used take out liner it only costs time and some hardware to bolt it in. Good luck to you guys and stay safe. 👍

I've seen people fix the beds in dump trucks with marine grade plywood and self-tap screws. The wood goes bad, you just put in a new piece. Not good when you haul a bunch of rock, but if it's just sand and clay, you're good to haul.
