One of the first radios I owned was an EC10 MkI . It was 'used' when I bought it, and I was disappointed in its performance. In my youthful enthusiasm, and not appreciating that it was actually a 'classic' set. I inflicted many unseemly modifications to this poor little set over the few years that followed. I felt so guilty many decades later that I restored another EC10 MI to pristine condition - this poor guy was a little beyond saving... So, I kept it as a reminder of my youth and an example of what not to do to a radio(!). It sits near me on a shelf, but had not been switched on for years - I did so a few days ago and all it would do was 'hiss' at me (can't blame it for that!). So I checked it out and rendered the poor thing operational again by chening out the electrolytics, cleaning switches and pots, plus a little troubleshooting of the AGC circuit (also much-modified!). I gave up on trying to make it fully-functional as some of the mods are not documented and the wiring is a real 'rats nest'. Please forgive me for my sins Eddystone! This short video provides a brief demo of the set working as best it can... An article on this set, describing the mods cane be found here: eddystoneuserg...
