Always loved the Damoiselle, since I was a kid and saw one in my dads airplanes of the world book. Nice to see one built with modern materials. Add the ailerons was a great idea, I never really liked wing warping, even if it is closer to how a bird does it. Next one I'd love to see is the De Pischoff sky cycle.

1911 SD. Demoiselle was the first aircraft imported to Finland. Two times I have start to build one, the first one end up a totally different setup but flown. No. 2 fuse is rusting away.

I think the little French pilot in the movie, "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" was flying a recreation of the original Demoiselle. IIRC he was one of the few that finished the race. In that film it was the only plane that looked modern and rational. This airplane is an absolute wonder. Huge wing area and slow flying. I'd like to try to build one but it just isn't in the cards.

Why make a video if you do not have links, more info, etc? Cool concept... would be nice to see how one is built, powered and controlled. That is what most people are looking into... what makes it go! Nonetheless, thanks for taking the time to interview this group of innovative vintage aviationists. I'd volunteer to help them if I lived near-by.

Santos Dumont also built his own small dirigible airship that he tied up outside his Paris atelier (Workshop) , whey not in use.
