I think Capcom's 1994 cult classic Demon's Crest (or Demon's Blazon depending on who you ask) was were my admiration for gothic horror, in its aesthetic and overall feel began. Ghosts N' Goblins had always been this tongue and cheek horror experience for kids that I've come to have a fondness for, but I think Firebrand's solo gothic adventure in this little title is where I feel Capcom truly hit all the points it wanted to in the field, especially in the music department. Toshihiko Horiyama masterfully orchestrated the perfect musical feel needed for the game, and if anything, it could be argued that my overall admiration for gothic music (from orchestral to metal) started with his work on the game as well.
I've taken two tracks off the original SNES OST and gave them a metal twist for you all to enjoy! So please, without further adieu.... enjoy!
