The capital Sana'a, which is under Houthi control, witnessed demonstrations in the streets of the city during the past hours, against the Iranian-backed Houthi group.
Local and media sources said that Houthi militants surrounded a demonstration in Sana'a that raised the flags of the Tihama movement, denouncing the rule of the armed group and the poor situation in Al-Hodeidah Governorate during the current rainy season.
The sources indicated that the demonstration took place between Al-Da'iri and Al-Raqqas streets in the center of the capital late Saturday evening.
The sources confirmed with eyewitnesses that the demonstrators chanted slogans denouncing the rule of the Houthi group, while at the same time warning of the return of the Imamate.
According to the sources, four patrols bearing the slogans of the Houthi security and police surrounded the demonstrators on Saturday evening and arrested no less than fifteen people, and chased the rest in the sub-districts.
The sources indicated that the Houthi forces transferred the detainees to an unknown location, where their fate is still unknown.
The Houthi group bans any demonstrations in the areas under their control, as the group arrested more than a thousand demonstrators on this day last year who participated in protest marches on the occasion of the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, which overthrew the Imamate regime and declared a republican system.
