Brings me back to my first lessons at about 16 with Leonid Bolotine in NYC about 1965....I loved visiting him once a week. He looked a bit like Segovia and (in those days) smoked a pipe in his studio within his apartment.. He was also the head of the guitar Dept. at Mannes College of Music and tried to get me in. But, alas, my knowledge of other kinds of classical music was too shallow along with my academic record, and so was rejected... It didn't matter much to me back then, livin' it up as a teen. But boy, it matters now, at 68 !! The boy here is so receptive to Dennis' insight. He will be a contender if he keeps it up and stays with Mr. A as long as possible..

I learnt this for my ABRSM Grade 8 many years ago and got 98% for it, but I was (am) nowhere near as good as this young man. Brilliant pupil and superb teacher. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Denis for sparing your valuable time for Jason Das at the Calcutta International guitar festival . He was playing the same piece Capricho Arabe today and I could see the tremendous improvement/change the way he is playing now after your effort. Thanks again for your good work..
