Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin set the screen on fire in this movie! This is the sexiest film I've ever seen. Sure, Basic Instinct and 9 1/2 Weeks feature alot of nudity, but The Big Easy boasts a great story and scorching hotness without the gratuitous nudity.

When Dewyey Balfa was in charge of Cajun Creole Week at Augusta Heritage, I hear he insisted that everyone be taught to dance. Christine says he was a stickler for accuracy, and she used to get "looks" shot her way by Dad when her playing was even slightly off.

He did a very underrated "Doc Holliday (according to Holliday descendants still living south of Atlanta) in "Wyatt Earp" movie. Kilmer gets deserved credit for his job in "Tombstone" but Quaid did a fine job, balancing education with desperation, old southern refinement coarsened by effects of incurable disease, slowly dying in a violent netherworld of the Old West, surrounded by uncouth and violent men, loose "sporting" women, knowing he'll never see Georgia again.

How the hell is/was this movie even remotely misogynistic? All the male cops are the badguys and she proves Remi's salvation in opening his eyes to how he was slowly corrupted and perverted as a cop. And, yeah, I was watching this in the movie theater when it first came out and have both it and its soundtrack in my libraries today. Please tell me, I gotta hear your explanation.
@RodFleming-World

It's misogynistic because the lead woman is under 200lb and doesn't have blue hair, piercings or tattoos and is not a lesbian. Greetings from 2019

Rod Fleming That’s the reason why movies are shite today, as it panders to minorities over the majority whom prefer movies like this one. Today’s generation are both misandrist and misogynist ( towards their own gender). As far as I am concerned my generation was the last decent generation ( Gen X ), pity that some of us produced such sullen insular and ill mannered kids as the Gen Z are and weak.

Ha ha ha The dancing is terrible. Totally non-Cajun. Christine Balfa taught me to Cajun dance and it wasn't anything like that. This must have humiliated her father. I love Robert Jardell putting his hand on her shoulder as reassurance. Bless you and Dirk and your family, Christine. Balfa Toujours!
