One dentist was going from chair to chair to chair. No tv, nothing just staring at the wall for more than 30 minutes one time. He told me if he didn’t come it wasn’t because he forgot about me. I have heard many dentists and oral surgeons have stopped wanting to do root canals because there is a near 100% chance you still have rotting material and infection in it after it is completed
@kittymeowmeow3676
7 күн бұрын
As a retired LDA, I would get a tooth pulled before I ever got a root canal! When they “clean the tooth out” they use a water and bleach solution. Like Clorox. I’ve worked with some dentists that don’t even dilute it, just straight up bleach. That in itself never sat right with me. In regard to reinfection..there’s a significant chance. The doctor could pierce the apex of the root or the gutta percha could get sucked back up after it gets pushed down. So..I’m not giving anyone medical advice, but based on what I’ve seen it’s not for me. One more thing: I think the way dentists talk about the procedure is misleading. They’re all like “we want to save this tooth”, but what the patient doesn’t understand is that they aren’t “saving” the tooth because it’s already dead. The procedure takes the nerves out the tooth so it’s no longer vital. It’s dead. Some people think a root canal is just like a large filling but it’s not.

I have to get three root canals with three crowns next week due to my previous dentist being too drill-happy on several fillings and drilling all my 'small' cavities down to my nerve, causing my nerves to recede and cause lots of pain. I'm only 17 and my nerves are super far up when they should be closer to the top of my tooth . I got an emergency temporary crown on three of my teeth in preparation for my root canals next week, but my old dentist filled drilled and filled 8 'small' cavities total so thanks for having this video to show me what I'm in for next week, and possibly further down the road when the other teeth he filled start acting up, which my new dentist said will happen soon.

@hells_shells absolutely. I don't know how 8 small cavity fillings turned into 3 root canals with permanent crowns with the possibility of 6 more root canals with permanent crowns. I'm trying to find out if it's malpractice because my family should be able to sue for the financial coverage of getting my root canals and crowns due to his negligence. If just one of my fillings ended up like this, it wouldn't be a huge deal. But 3 root canals and likely 5 more after that is not a coincidence.

@izoraiza7169
2 ай бұрын
If you have insurance they can possibly cover the cost of getting fixed up so it isn't flat but it can also be considered a cosmetic and not be covered by insurance. I don't know much about insurance other than my mom having it for me. My insurance wouldn't cover something until the dentist said it was literally a need to remove the pain I had from metal spacers I had. The pain wouldn't go away until the spacers were removed because they slid down and started cutting my gums around the teeth holding them on. The previous dentist from a different office wouldn't remove them when he was supposed to so I went to a different one that would do it. They had to take so many photos days before they removed it to have the one removing them know how it was put on for the removal. This was back when I was 16 years ago when they removed it. I was like 13 when they were originally put in... It all depends on if you want it and they will probably have to look at old photos if they have any to shape the tooth. If not they may have to guess and make it look natural. I'm not completely sure how it'd work but that's my best guess. Do your research and see what it's like before deciding whether you want it done and if you can get it done.

Hi! This is normal! Some dentists decide to file the tooth down so you aren’t hitting it hard (or at all) when eating. This is because Root canal treated teeth are very brittle and can break easier due to lack of blood supply to the tooth. The easiest fix is to have a “cap” placed on it. This cap will make the tooth have its normal shape again and will protect the tooth underneath from breaking.

I've been fascinated with your channel after my own dental surgery. Had to have all of my teeth remove, but was a very unique case. Had severe infection, and according to my doctor I was maybe a month away from becoming septic and dying. Lost vision in my left eye, ringing in my ears that I still have tennitus from. Anyways, all of my teeth became rotten all at once, over a short period of time, which is weird since ive always been hygienic. Apparently the cause of this, was because my teeth, specifically my roots, were ALL twice the length of the average persons. He said it happened because my body couldn't provide the nutrients to keep them healthy. He basically said (exaggeration) I'd have to eat my body weight in vitamins to keep them, and reassured me it wasn't my fault. He pulled 5 one day, after a week and round of antibiotics they pulled the other 27 in one go. Conscious for the whole thing, only used novacaine. He said in his 30 years of practice, he's never seen that before, and asked if he could send pictures, and my teeth to a university in STL, and ofc I said yes. Whole thing took about 4 hours, and the worst part was my wisdom teeth. They were still relatively healthy, but also, the clearance in my mouth was so small, he couldn't get the leverage needed to pull it out, so he had to basically cut each tooth into a cross section like + and pull out each section individually. Funniest part was that at one point he had one leg over me, standing on the chair to try and rip em out lol.

This explains why my dentist always gives awful fillings... They never layer any of the material its always one shot, followed by me asking "okay so i should be good now as long as i continue to brush and floss" then them responding with "yeah of course see ya again soon"

Of course they're not gonna tell you to clean your teeth really well at home with mouthwash and floss and all of that stuff because they know they lose money if they don't help you clean your teeth.

Root canals are expensive. Mine cost €900 then €200 for core filling and a following €900 for a crown.. €2000 for that one tooth. Word to anyone out there, unless you've got good insurance go get it pulled and pay for a dental implant. Way better option

This kinds of procedure are only for people who has good insurance... Or money to pay out of pocket. People who has assistance will just get told, there is nothing left to be done. And the tooth will be yanked out forever gone! Thanks dentists!

I have a very small cavity like they said that it’s just gonna take 45 minutes. I only have one cavity. I actually could see it in the mirror and it was probably the size of this . Literally it was not even that bad. I’m getting it removed on Friday and I’m not nervous at all! if you’re getting your cavities fixed, don’t be nervous. It’s better to get it done then just have it there.

Root canals are terrible for the long term. The rot often continues, it's safest to extract the entire tooth and get a ceramic implant.
@DoeDoKu

That's best yeah, though a lot of insurance companies wont cover it, so a root canal is the next best thing over no tooth at all

@@DoeDoKu I've rather suffer no tooth while I save up than have an unhealthy heart. In fact, I am suffering through several teeth losses while I save up lol and it sucks, but heart problems run in the fam. To each their own.
