My rescue died last night, a very sweet but old gal, very determined. We went to vet and left with meds and a plan. Halfway thru the day I blurted out it's ok if you can't stay she winked few hours later she was gone. This is the 2nd pup I've lost in 3 months. I heard somewhere this is one of the first songs written by Dave. He said in an interview pain is where you find yourself. Wise words.

This song is a personal and musical evolution of Dave Gahan...It's about how lost he was and how he fell in love and came back to himself, emerged from abyss...I also think it is partly dedicated to his wife (it's not coincidence she plays an angel in here), it's about what could have happened if he hadn't met his wife (The moment they drove past drunken and dead Dave). It's about chosing life and love. Beautiful and personal

Agreed. I think the "DM's Bridal Shop" is also a reference to what life would have been like if he hadn't "married" his band. They are trapped behind glass and sad, and he staggers out into the snow without them.

This is not my favorite DM song but it is the one that hit closest to home. I went through a time after being in immense pain due to an injury where I stopped taking pain medication. When stopping I was so hooked on the legal dope my life was miserable. Felt like I had the worst flu for a good 5 months. I would listen to this song every day after getting out of a hot shower and feeling like I was freezing to death while hot outside getting ready for work. Just knowing what Dave Gahan had went through with withdrawals and kicking his dope habit I knew when he sang to just hang on and suffer well that indeed sometimes it's hard. I am forever grateful for the words of encouragement from someone else who has walked through my shoes and stumbled through my footsteps.

I hear you. I grew up with America, Eagles and such in the 70's/ In my 20's depeche mode came out. I notice after several years no matter what I always had to get a fix of there music in every day. I still like America, Pink Floyd etc. However I long ago realized this is my favorite band. Like a old Paul McCartney song silly love songs. What's wrong with that its boring. You grow up something more edgier is way better. I was glad Clarke and Bell left in the mid 80's we would have been stuck with pop music.

Depeche Mode is such a great band and so underrestimated amongst rock bands. What started as an electric pop band really evolved in one of the great rock bands of the last decades. And my God yes what a singular and great voice. We tried with my friend from R&O to review this great song. Maybe we succeeded, maybe not, we let you be the judge if you have two or three minutes to spare and a thumb up or down to add, come listen and judge us here :-) kzitem.info/news/bejne/yquby65ji5x_lII

But became closer since... 17 years. Their music helped me in critical moments in my life. When I spend two years in children home. No friends. No ppl who understand me. When after all I was also asking WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I FELL FROM GRACE? When i thought that i am rising but... I must fight again.👊💪 Thank YOU very much for being through Your music with me even not knowing how much You help.🤝❤️❤️❤️🇵🇱

Can someone please explain to me ... why I'm feeling Depeche Mode is such a great band? I randomly stumbled upon two songs of their's on Pandora just last year while working out in the gym one day - StrangeLove and Personal Jesus - and now I find myself owning almost all of their albums. Don't think a group has ever worn on me so fast before.

That's how it happens with them. Everyone has a good story. And yes they are great.
