Depression and anxiety can wreak havoc on your ability to take care of yourself, other people, and your living space. It can make it almost impossible to go to work, go to school, or work on anything else that matters to you.
But if you understand how your inner motivation system works you can manipulate the variables that make you want to do or not want to do certain things. You can modify your perception of effort and reward to stay as functional as possible no matter what your mood is doing on any given day.
