Super job with your turkey leftovers! WOW! Also, thanks for the info on the N.C. substation situation. First I heard of it, and it is very troubling news.

Hello, Ms. Fanny. Hope you had a great day.🤗 If you're hungry, you'll eat anything that's put in front of you. I hope it doesn't get to that point, but it could. I grew up eating what my mom put on the table or starve. Anyway, stay happy, healthy and safe.

Well hello Tilly :) We sure do eat about anything when hungry . My mom was the same . No special cooking in our house that was for sure . Did you love the weather today ? That is my kind of winter weather lol

Yes, the weather was perfect. I don't like too cold or to hot. When it's real cold, even the cats snuggle up with me at night.🐈😺❤️

Did you dehydrate the bone meal or just grind and vacuum seal?
@FannyUrbanhomesteader

I did a video , you can put them back in the oven or dehydrator to dry them out even more for longer term storage or for your dogs .

Question ⁉️ Can you use frozen potato cubes to make your hash?
@FannyUrbanhomesteader

I'm thinking since frozen are pre cooked they may not hold up to the canning process

The meal with the meat, bread and mashed potatoes is called "Manhattans". Just had roast beef manhattans last night. Yum!

"ugly early" 🤣 Is that half-passed "o'dark thirty" in your time zone . . . ha ha ha!!! Cooking and eating like our grandparents is a good gauge to help us fly below the radar in this crazy economy. See the making of many excellent soups and other tasty meals in your future, Fanny --- and all transformed from "scraps!" Back in the day (decades ago), I enjoyed the diner scene for work lunches, dates. They were open ALL the time on the east coast, and the menus were pages and pages. I would often ask our wait staff, "where do you keep all this food?"😆Unfortunately, I had more than one relative poke fun at my habit of keeping a pantry . .then the pandemic occurred and their financial status changed. Some of us insist on learning the hard way. 😔Your channel is so rich in content, citing history and trends. Collard greens, ham hocks (and the resulting "pot liquor" was a staple in my dad's cooking). You have the pulse of what's going on andrecognize the fickleness of human nature. 💗

LOL Jean , yes I'd say dark thirty and ugly early are around an hour apart or so hehe . Sure wish younger folks payed more attention to the ones they see as old now . Maybe we can show them and they will learn and not notice lol . I miss my diner outings with my mom , loved me the hot roast beef or turkey , which a viewer said is Called a Manhattan I knew it had a name back east but in Cali it was just a hot w/e . I've had many make fun of me for canning and such , but they didn't make fun when they were hungry . Funny how that goes . That pot liquor can be gold , I'm not the biggest fan of collards but the broth is the best soup . I'm getting more used to diff greensthe longer I live here , hubby is just happy I can cook them lol

My children weren't spoiled rotten with name brand stuff,but some kids have been. I knew a woman years ago that had a second job just to buy stuff for her grandkids. My little granddaughter makes toys at our house out of household stuff. The top off of a parmesan cheese container,etc. Use the imagination...
