As someone who had a big acne problem at 15, I must say that before you have it, you have no idea how much it hurts. When talking about it people tend to stick to the aesthetic side, which is weird considering how painful acne is. That shit feels like needles through your skin. Even if it disturbed my growth a little, I'll take being short and out of that life any day.

Really? I never found acne to be that painful at all. Unless you accidentally rub a specifically sore pimple against something
@Riverchick13694

@@es0x Cystic acne is incredibly painful. Blackheads and whiteheads generally are not. And that’s not even factoring in the mental anguish from being in pain day after day or the devastating social issues a kid with acne can endure. We’re not just talking a few zits-it’s mountainous, pressure-filled abscesses that can range from pea-sized to larger than a quarter. Having one is bad enough, several at one time can be debilitating, both physically and emotionally. At its worst, it can change one’s personality-taking a happy, outgoing person into a shy introvert who avoids social contact at all costs.

My son was on it for extreme acne on his back and a little on his face. Yes it 100% works but it DOES come with side effects. Extreme fatigue, times of depression once they increase the medication, sore bones and joints and even sore organs, also messes with your vision. So make sure you closely monitor your child and consult the doctor about every concern. Because if your child is willing to possibly have to deal with these side effects for 6months, they will come out of it with excellent skin and get that confidence back. My son stopped going swimming because he was embarrassed, he never wears a shirt anymore and is extremely confident.

@@aminaa7316 Thank you for clarifying your question. Yes, I believe it did go through an eruption (purge) phase but only for about a week. I took it twenty years ago so I don't remember how long it lasted, but I know it was worth it. The worst side effect was extremely dry skin and I used a lot of Vaseline. I even put a very thin layer of Vaseline directly on my face and it would absorb without feeling greasy.

Roaccutane has an high depression side effect it’s actually very controversial in Europe we can’t take it if we have mental health issues or depression because it can be worse. I had two friends of mine that took it and they both had depression no school and were crying all day, results no acne anymore but therapy for many years. They told that they wished they never took it because they felt like crap, they are now 23 and fine but it’s still a bad time for them. So sometimes medication isn’t the solution like antidepressants for example (I had 9 differents ones so I know what I’m talking about they just didn’t worked for me cause I am bipolar and not depressed which isn’t the same treatment even though you can’t cure bipolar disorder).
