Actually, the needles on rollers penetrate the scalp at angles, potentially tearing skin and, alas, cutting existing hairs. This does not happen with the pens. And you should lift the pen while in motion, so you're not sliding it across scalp while needle is in scalp, potentially creating the same problem with rollers. Re: efficacy of micro needling, there's a new study. It raises questions of efficacy of micro needling. Previous studies suggested that it can be effective, but it is more effective with Minoxidil as an adjunctive modality. Of course, if you're not using meds, the new study should be considered. It's done without Minox or any growth stimulant. Dr. Jeff Donovan covered it at his channel. He's one of the best dermatologists out there re: hair loss. He's level headed and his work is all evidence-based. Then, of course, there's Kevin Mann at Hair Cafe. His histrionic aside, he grounds his opinions in research/evidence. He recently covered the new study I mentioned. I tried the micro needling for a while.

Nice honest review. I made the switch also to an M8. I used a 1.5mm roller but was definitely not applying enough pressure. Now I’ve moved to a pen I’ve had to reduce the length to 1mm and that’s hitting deeper. Pen takes longer for me as I do the whole of the top of my scalp. I plan to reuse cartridges also. If a roller can be used for 3 months, I’m hoping I can get the same length of time out of the cartridges. I would be happy with 6 uses though (6 weeks).

Hey bro that’s awesome! I think it’s much easier to use than the derma roller for sure 😊 yes the needles felt like they penetrated deeper with 1.0mm on the derma pen than 1.0mm derma roller. Yea I think it’ll be fine reusing it a few times, I will just make sure the needless are intact and not bent 🙌🏼

I have a question. In the 3 years that you’ve been derma rolling have your noticed any scarring on your scalp at all? Thank you very much

Do you find using the dermapen leads to missing spots? Its hard to see where you already applied the needles. With the roller it is much wider and easier to keep track of. I havent used either yet, but i am worried i end up missing spots or doing the same areas more with the pen

Victor bro I’ve ordered the m8 from amazon and the reviews are very positive but I’ve 2 problems 1. The a7 have a rpm of 18000 and the m8 have 15000. Does it makes any difference on the effectiveness of the penetration cause I’ll be using the pen for both face and hair 2. I have long thin hair on the frontal part and thick long hair on the crown part of scalp. Does this makes my hair to break cause on using derma roller it does breaks a lot. And also the rpm will cause any effect on breaking of hair Please answer these two questions cause i may change the order wrt its effecivness as its a one time purchase Sorry for bad English

Hey bro! The M8 will be great for sure :) I don’t think it’ll break your hair either way, the derma roller would definitely pose a higher risk of that than whichever derma pen you choose as it presses the needle rather than rolling it 😊🙌🏼

my dude. your using fake derma roller. its blades not a needles pick other derma roller with real needles. single needles what to use not the blades blades can make more damage than benefits. check some videos about on youtube. and search for real derma roller wich in most cases gonna be clear roller where you can see if its the needles or blades.

I wonder if you experience the same effect. Since using minoxidil topically, my sexual urge is no where near before. I mean I get the urge like every hours, days, months, and now, I feel nothing

If you used topical minoxidil that's almost impossible to happen, i dont even know if its written as a side effect somewhere to begin with... Still i hope that you overcome it eventually
@victoremery

I think this is all psychological! You’re overthinking it, that side effect shouldn’t happen from using minoxidil, possibly if you were using finasteride, but even that is very very rare 😊

what you are describing here is not a side effect when i applied topical minox for the first time in my life i was unaware of its side effects totally.......after 3-4 days of application my erections were lot less and my sex drive decreased a lot i immediately stopped applying minox and found out on reddit that other people on reddit described the same loss of hard erections and sexual desire when on topical minoxidil for hair growth...and the worst part is some people recovered in a short span of time while others claimed its been years and their sexual desire is still not back to normal and erections are still weaker.......some people dont experience these side effects and some do everybodys bodies are different if you are experiencing these side effects stop minox make your health much much better than think about applying it or just totally ditch it

I too just Minoxidil, Finasteride, and Dermaroller. Have seen INCREDIBLE results over the last 18 months. This guy has the head shape to pull off a shave. I tried it and never again. I know some know what I'm talking about lol. But heck yeah dude, you rock the shaved head. No maintenance, you're lucky and honestly don't blame you. Thanks for taking us on the journey. You should now expand your channel to things like your workouts, diet, supplements, etc. Think you'd get a big following there. Good luck
