DC was a beast! I never was sure what happened to him Mentally to make his game downshift at one point in his career, but hadn’t not we would be discussing who the best ever was between him and Duncan. That New Jersey Nets squad was on the brink. Had Kenny Anderson developed and Isaiah Thomas stop and pop jump shot, And Petrovic not passed… They would’ve been something to reckon with.

Now that was one fitting mixtape soundtrack! Derrick Coleman was one of the most skilled big men on the paint. He was also agile which made him really effective on the inside. These were the good days where big men still had a great time and games were still not all about outside shooting. I miss playing basketball so much more after watching this! Thank you for the awesome career mixtape by the one and only Derrick Coleman. P.S. Ending this video with his poster on Shaq was the perfect finish. LOL

I was like woow, he give me that detroit look and that homie nod walk, as I stand next to him, he was like what's up. Shook his hand and I was like please to meet you DC. At that time he was playing for the new york nets. I'll never forget him. He, me was checking out the honies aka the ladies, on the dance floor lol.💯Game recognize Game. Real true story.💯✌🏾

I fell in love with basketball due to DC-Kenny-Petrovic living in Jersey. DC was the beast. While I think his motor issues are true, I think a good chunk of it was a tragic death of Petrovic. Petrovic was like MJ and Kobe - venomous, ultimate competitor. If tragedy didn’t happen and they kept the trio in tact, the Nets would have contended in the eastern conference.
