I love how in all previous Zelda games with Ganondorf, the music always builds and builds as you ascend to his tower. But in this one, it builds as you descend down into the loneliest and darkest depths to his level. Him being so far underground is in some ways far more sinister than him waiting in a tower if you ask me.

The sense of verticality in this game just really added to the fact of how low you really have to sink. You start up on an island super high in the sky, representing a divine paradise like heaven, then you dive deeper into the "mortal realm", the land beneath, then you unexpectedly can dive deeper into the depths, which are dark and filled with an ominous power, enemies, gloom, etc. For the final battle, instead of the castle high in the sky, you descend to the lowest depths imaginable into a hellish landscape, and finally into the devil's layer. The symbolism, the epicness, the gameplay, the story, it's somehow all even better than what they accomplished with BotW in my opinion, and I can't put it down. There's so much freaking stuff to do in this game that it's ironically been the most value for my money game I've gotten in ages.

And for the finale, you end it where you started. In the Sky.
@Nyxael5845

The final jump before descending into Gloom's Origin is symbolic because the arena where you land when viewed from a birds eye view is vaguely shaped like a human heart, and the tremendous plunge that follows mirrors the same jump done in the Room of Awakening at the very start of the game. You start the game at around 2800 meters above the sea and end the game in the darkest depths at -2450 meters underground. Link is landing on the "heart" of all evil, and his presence is akin to a blood clot (Master Sword) that travels into the coronary arteries of the heart (Gloom's Origin) to deprive it of oxygen (Miasma).

For this game, I kind of had an elaborate head canon in the back of my mind the whole time that Sonia’s spirit was haunting the site where Dorf was sealed, waiting for her husband to be free so they could be together in the afterlife, and that the high pitched vocals were being sung by Sonia to keep herself occupied while waiting for those thousands of years for Rauru to be free, and while you are falling into the gloom, she sings louder in the hopes that you will find her, which just turned this from fantastic music into actual pure emotion, as it was like I was diving to free Rauru and Sonia, not just defeat Ganon

The opera like singing at the start made me piss my pants when I listened to it first. It's as if it's trying to tell you that this isn't where Ganondorf was imprisoned, even though it plays inside the imprisoning chnaber, this is the literal grave of the only other guy in the series strong enough to defeat him, the one with the opposing power of light to Ganon's darkness, a being from the race of gods, endowed with an arcane stone granting him further godlike powers and even he didn't stand a chance, what chance does a mortal knight missing his best arm, holding makeshift weapons and lacking his army have? As we dive further past the boundary of hell and earth, the transition in the Zonai chanting is almost ritualistic, trying to tell you that this place is some sort of purgatory. It's also feels as if the Zonai themselves are trying to warn you that you should leave. That you shouldn't be here. And then we get the goofiest cutscene where the annoying mfs called 'sages' showup to do their "power of friendship" crap dance, completely ruining the vibe.
