Doctor in Biochemistry from the University of Granada (2000). He is currently a full professor at the University of Alcalá and an associate researcher at IMDEA Agua where he heads the Bioelectrogenesis group. After developing a postdoctoral stage at the University of Massachusetts (USA) and the Center for Astrobiology (CSIC-INTA), he focuses his research on environmental biotechnology, specifically, on studying the mechanisms of the relationship between bacteria and conductive materials of electricity, a theme that would have been considered science fiction just a few years ago. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
